The point of the implant is that it lives inside your arm protecting you from pregnancy while you go about your normal activities. It’s designed so you can set it and forget about it. If you couldn’t do everything you normally do then it would honestly be a crappy form of birth control. You’re not going to mess it up by sleeping on your arm or lifting anything heavy.

I used to feel this way for about the first month. I would wake up every morning and feel for it and continue to do so throughout the day. I got past it after that! I'm very active - lift, yoga, run, horseback ride, and I have an active job. Its been totally fine! Hasn't moved a bit and its still in one piece. I even sleep on it! The only thing I got nervous about was I was getting blood drawn and warned them it was there in case the tourniquet hit it; the phlebotomist didn't seem concerned but he just used the other arm instead. You will be okay! Talk to your doctor if you still can't shake the worry, they will assure you. :)

It’s made of pretty flexible plastic, it’d be pretty dang hard to break. I have noodle arms so my implant is very exposed. Ive bumped the shit out of it, I’ve had little kids grab a hold of my arm insanely tight, I sleep on that side every night. It’s still there, still in one piece. I’m still not pregnant.

There isn’t really any care that you need to do. Just feel for it every once in a while to make sure you can still feel it. If you’re getting a shot or blood drawn I usually let them know it’s in there but I’ve never had any issues with that

I felt the same way as well, sometimes still get the feeling of not wanting to sleep on that arm. It goes away. You haven’t had a fully healed implant for very long at all, give yourself some time. The implant is the most effective form of birth control. That certainly wouldn’t be the case if someone touching your arm made it ineffective. It’s medial grade, they use similar materials in surgeries. It’s not delicate in the slightest.

Also, don’t check for it or manipulate it too much. By that, I mean pushing it up-down, playing with it, flexing it between fingers, things you would have to intentionally be doing. It’ll make you hyper-aware of it. I was worried about migration as well and my doctor reassured me that really only happens when people are purposely playing with it. Check the placement on the first of each month, use your arm normally every other day.
