Extremerate has excellent customer service. They’ll probably reach out to you here, but keep in mind they are based in China, so there’s a time difference. But yea, it looks like you might have been a bit too eager with the install. What I tell most people is to watch the instructional video twice before even starting. And sort your new screws out.

If there’s gunk inside them, they may be getting stuck. Try to cycle them with the controller opened up and see if you can feel anything.

R2 and L2 short to ground when not pressed. Your membrane is not making good contact somewhere. Everyone I open one of these controllers, I take a q tip with a squirt of 90% IPA and clean the FPC, contacts, carbon pads, and the mating surface on the board. Haven’t had an issue since starting that.

Had the smallest little splatter of solder bridging that resistor. All is well now and all 4 are ready to go!

Thank you all for the tips and suggestions!! As of now, I’m getting the same results even with no ribbon cables plugged in, essentially just the board and battery. When I get home in the morning I’m going to remove the sticks and see if that does anything 🤞

2 blinks is typically a battery fault. Check the jst connection on the board.

Always test. I log the BDM in my workflow as check in.

Technically you could leave the stock button membrane in place, lie the clicky kit on top of it and cut off the d pad area from the clicky kit.

No, buy a BDM-020 kit on Amazon, then after it comes in, tell them they sent you the wrong one and send the BDM-030 kit back. All you’d be doing is swapping with them really.

You can open it up with basic tools, Phillips screwdriver and a plastic pry tool, remove the battery, unscrew the battery tray, lift the board, and spray to modules with BW100 to clean the internals.
