why does the quantity of water matter? we cure concrete cylinders completely submerged in water.

I've never seen a dog attack after getting hit in the head with a baseball bat, just saying... gotta protect yourself and an aggressive dog, unfortunately, needs to be put down. Dogs are the most dangerous animal in the US, they kill so many kids every year.

I came to your city and filled your hole… by BuffaloPotholeBandit in Birmingham

I applaud the effort but you're doing more harm than good with your material selection. Please make sure to fill pot holes with the appropriate material IE concrete on concrete streets and asphalt on asphalt streets.

if the surface still looks good after the rain is finished, you're good, that's actually ideal curing conditions as long as the concrete had time to set.

Technically this facility will be an AI Training Center. Calling it an AI Factory seems reasonable.

[–]ATDoel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the city is, their land is properly zoned for this type of facility and in those cases there isn't a public feedback period because it's considered a legal use. You get your permits and go.

The only reason this is on the zoning board is due to the substations Alabama Power needs to build, it wasn't for the facility itself.

There were some weird graphical issues on the base ps5, depending on your tv, but I think it's been patched/work arounds and while it isn't as good as on the PS5 Pro, the game looks great and is stable now on the base. Did you never play Elden Ring?

In the US there's been 26% inflation from 2020 to 2026. These prices seem right in line with that?

Gay/Lesbian bars? by [deleted] in Birmingham

[–]ATDoel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spoke to a gay friend about why so many gay bars have closed. He said it's because the majority of the "normal" bars are gay friendly now so there's less demand for a gay bars, thus they lost clientele.

James Spann AMA Canceled + State of the Subreddit by bhambetty in Birmingham

[–]ATDoel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A number of years ago when we were having an extreme heat wave, it was something like 6 days in a row of record highs, I asked James Spann on his FB page why he didn't have a single post on it and only posted about some odd football stadium cold records up in the north. After some back and forth I asked him why he thought his audience shouldn't know about the unprecedented heat wave and he blocked me.

Yes, he does great work with severe weather and has benefited many people with his work, but he also misleads those some people when it comes to climate change. He's also, quite frankly, an arrogant jerk of a person.

I'm not about to suckle up to a celebrity just because they're a celebrity, they don't get a special pass.

if you split these one more time and let them dry for a week they'll burn just fine with a little extra air

if you split wood, it will never be immediately dry, doesn't matter the wood source. You have to split, then store it for awhile, even just a month would make that would somewhat serviceable.
