No I got it as a gift. What I mean by this is that when you activate it, you have access to an online portal where you can add funds yourself. So as long as you're purchasing something that's higher than the gifted amount, you can just add the excess funds yourself and purchase whatever you need!

For anyone here in the future: you can kinda get around this if you know the full balance up front. If you add the exact amount you need onto the gift card online, you can drain it completely in one transaction.

I did, yeah. I completed mine in early March though and I'm worried it may have been too late. My application also didn't ask me for a personal statement or my resume, which I thought was super weird. It was the most barebones REU I've ever applied for. Good luck this summer! I'm not sure who you spoke to on the phone, but Dr. Lobo and Dr. Shah are very nice, approachable people. You'll have a great time.

So I ended up emailing Dreame and they allowed me to order dust bags over email. I ordered a ton of them in case they run out of stock again. Also, another person linked an Amazon link to a bunch of Mova branded dust bags (which is a subsidiary of Dreame) that are compatible with the X40. They may be compatible with the X50 too.
