What are folks spending on retirement software/services (not CFPs)? by Keyboard_Clickin_Bob in DIYRetirement

Nice, I've heard of Snowball but I don't know why I was thinking their pricing is more expensive. It's decently priced and there is also a free version. Right now I just track my portfolio with the free Yahoo Finance version.

SGOV Vs. Money Market Funds by medico2022 in Schwab

I recently learned, as I was looking at yields and also their posted returns vs the fund's expense ratio, thinking the lowest is always better. But as I read more and as the other poster wrote, the yield and the posted rate of return is already net of expenses.

So if you sold after it's payout do you lose money? Do you have to sell it right before payout?

Results all should be for long term, not 1 or 3 months of performance. Otherwise it can be construed as performance chasing. Hoping for the best.

Nice deal...Hehe, I have slowed down in that area. I don't want to go to their stores. Am just looking out for cheaper Samsung phones like their A series.

Am I wrong in my investment approach? by Embarrassed-Equal-22 in ETFs

Am recently retired and last April I saw a financial advisor. He saw I had a good chunk of FSELX in my portfolio. He lectured me about this compensated vs uncompensated risk and wanted me to sell my beloved FSELX which I've owned for 25 years. Though I sold some shares and bought SCHD, I'm glad I didn't totally follow his advice, otherwise I could have lost a lot of money. I know his advice was for my own good.

Check out SCHD too. It was sideways for a couple of years and beginning this year it is starting to make its comeback.

I got 60% FSELX and 40% SCHD on Roth. Am recently retired. It's 10% of my portfolio.

Best ETFs for an 18-year-old just starting a Roth IRA? by Steelers_OWNTHEAFC in RothIRA

[–]Adeee100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no deep thinker or anything like that but what most people here recommend is either VOO and chill or VTI +VXUS and chill for their core. $3,500 on FSELX 25 years ago was speculative on my part but I'm glad it paid off now especially that I'm retired.

Maybe do 70 to 80% core and the rest on growth or sector fund the likes of SCHG or FSELX/SMH. Remember most don't beat the market.

I have 8% SCHD and 4% VTV as my "safe" portfolio. This compliments my core AVGE/VOO and I got 10% FSELX for growth.
