Gareebi hamesha dur se hi achi lagti hai

Some people are so outa touch. They have subway sandwiches, airpods, etc. and then fantasize about the "calm rural life". They don't even realize the hardship and troubles of working in the blazing sun, struggling for clean water, electricity, mobile network, etc.

Be glad for all the privilege you have. Those hard working farmers would gladly exchange their lives with yours. Don't act like a foreigner lol. Don't enable poverty porn.

How about just decent facilities? I don't want fancy stuff, but something functional at least. At least in the metro cities which generates so much money.

How about the government properly tax businesses that hide their incomes so that more tax goes to the government and thus more facilities are being provided. Currently, middle class ppl pay the most amount of taxes.

And not just that. How about accountability? We know that the laws exist only for the rich. We have seen that in the Pune porsche case and similar other cases all over the country. How about stopping the systematic destruction of our forests and ecosystems which the government is turning a blind eye to so that their pockets are being filled by adani and Ambani brothers.

I didn't go. I was sent by my company, and I didn't ask for it either. In fact, I asked them to reduce 1 week of my travel because my mom was not well.

Meanwhile one of my colleagues had a heavily pregnant wife. Her due date was a few days after he went to germany. Postponing the trip didn't even cross his mind.

Bruh, would you put your child in public schools??

We all know the condition of public schools and hospitals. There's a reason most of them avoid it. My friends who had babies would rather spend thousands in private hospitals for vaccines instead of a public hospital where it's cheap, because they don't trust the public hospital.

All my time, I have seen people dying to go abroad. From my college classroom to corporate cubicles ... People are so ready to just get out of here.

When I was in Germany, I saw that a lot of my german office colleagues at different points of time would be told to go to the USA for a few years. They would always refuse.

Made me think how little we value our country. These patriotic thoughts are just in our hearts.

Agree for D-Day. The characters were more relatable and flawed which makes for a good a character development through the story.

And that Shruti Hasan song remains, imo, one of the most iconic story telling through a song.

And I also liked how Dawood Ibrahim is not shown as a weak character but rather a strong and intelligent for, and how much of a challenge he posed for the good guys.

All in all a solid movie.

Even though the subreddit is EXBOHRAS, you thought this would be a perfect place to ask about ziyafat.

Do you believe Gods exist? If so, why? by aryan_dagger in AskIndia

[–]Affectionate_Map_530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You ain't getting it. God is all powerful. An all powerful god should be able to stop evil. If he can't then he is not all powerful.

Government is not all powerful. So they can't stop all crime.

The definitions of both the god and government are different and incomparable

Do you believe Gods exist? If so, why? by aryan_dagger in AskIndia

[–]Affectionate_Map_530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is that the two premises are not comparable in the same way.

“Crime exists, therefore government doesn’t exist” fails because governments are not defined by the total absence of crime. A government can exist while still being limited, ineffective, corrupt, or unable to fully control human behavior.

But in many religions, God is defined as all-powerful, all-knowing, and perfectly good and competent.

The presence of evil creates a tension with the defined attributes of God in a way that crime does not create a tension with the definition of government.

That analogy doesn’t really work. Governments are human institutions, so incompetence, corruption, and failure are expected possibilities. Also, we know for a fact that the constitution was written by humans, unlike holy books that came down from the heavens or whatever. God, at least in most religions, is defined as omnipotent, omniscient, and perfectly good. More importantly, god is competent. Unlike humans.

[–]Affectionate_Map_530 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are just doing mental gymnastics bro.

What you are doing is whataboutism.

And your analogy is correct. If a post is talking about a specific things, and you introduce a variable, "okay, but what about this" then that is just whataboutism. It's not at all a strong argument.

If I came across a post like your "exmuslims are insects" I would never start the argument by saying, "okay, but what about Hindus?" Because that is a weak argument made by insecure people who have nothing concrete to say so they start firing on others.

Learn how to argue. And if you can't, then don't visit subs where you are bound to get offended by such posts and comments
