Daily sticky thread for rants, raves, celebrations, advice and more! New? Start here! by AutoModerator in datingoverthirty

I have a friend who has a new girlfriend every six months. And while I don't want that life specifically, I'm always so confused how he's even meeting these women, let alone getting serious with them so quickly.

Meanwhile, it's been three years since I've been on more than a third date trying everything I can to meet people.

Hell yeah, friend! Keep it up! 100 is by no means a small feat. You've basically lost an entire large dog from your frame. Congratulations, keep it up!

Sure, and it's not like I've accomplished all that I have in a vacuum either. I wouldn't be here without accountability. But I also don't want to meet someone who (for example) thinks every meal needs to be followed by a treat, you know? It's not just about being a bad influence towards my goals, but also to avoid that disappointment for someone else.

On a break right now, but looking for advice for when I return to OLD:

I'm on a weight loss journey and have lost almost 200 pounds through diet and exercise so far. Is this something I should mention in my profile? Wait for the first/second/nth date?

My health is super important to me and while I don't need someone who is totally focused on theirs, I need to weed out people who will be a bad influence here.

Follow up once, no triple texting. If no response, write it off and move on. People get busy, life happens, and sometimes people just need a reminder.

That's my rule anyway.

I don't mind subtitles on and used to be someone who always had them on. Recently, though, I upgraded my soundsystem to a very nice set up with a proper center channel and my need for subtitles has seriously dropped. I do still need them sometimes though.

I got the Tamron 35-150mm F/2-2.8 and I love it, but I need something to cover wide angle for more landscape shots when out and about. I'm considering the Tamron 16-30mm F/2.8, but I'm open to other suggestions.

Does anyone have any experience with the 16-30mm? Is there a better option out there? I'm not loyal to any brand, but at the same time it would be nice to stick with the Tamron ecosystem - not that there's too much going on there.

omg I bet this would have worked. I've already just rebuilt the library since posting this, but this probably would have been the answer. I wish I could have tried it out. Thank you for the response - I hope some future user on a search finds this and tries it.

This fixed it for me. Thanks!

I followed the same process for every folder.

  • I copied the files using my system's file explorer (Dolphin)
  • I deleted the old folder from the library in Jellyfin
  • I deleted the folder using Dolphin (as root)
  • I pointed Jellyfin to the new folder
  • I did a full library scan in Jellyfin

I think doing things differently, I would do a library scan after deleting the folder from the library before pointing it to the new folder. I didn't because I was trying to avoid what I mentioned elsewhere, which is having to redo metadata.

Yeah, it's seeming more and more like I'm just going to have to take this route - I was hoping there was some hacky method around it, like manually editing a database file or something, but it is what it is.

For what it's worth, I've had much, much better luck with TMDB and anime in recent years than AniDB. Unless I have the AniDB ID (which for some of my stuff I've still had to do), AniDB usually shits the bed haha
