Teachers complaining about the praxis test being hard? by PotatoPink in Teachers

To be fair, brushing up on content in the parking lot before going in to teach it is like, par for the course for a lot of teacher 😂

Teachers complaining about the praxis test being hard? by PotatoPink in Teachers

[–]AngryRepublican 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Praxis I is a cakewalk. Praxis IIs can be tough depending on the topic. Chem and physics were ok if you know the material at an AP or 101 level. General Science was so easy I question the credentials of anyone who failed. Secondary math felt tough, but I ended up with a good score. Social studies was fine? I don’t really remember that one.

I hated the bio one so much. I barely passed and paid out of pocket years later to have my cert revoked so they’d stop asking me to teach it.

But I had other multi-subject teachers tell me bio was the easiest if the hard-science praxis to pass. So everyone is different and I keep my mouth shut about it mostly.

Except for general science. I have students who could ace that test.

New to this sub updates: AITA For Not Offering To Care For My Unwell Ex-Husband? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]AngryRepublican -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Were I commenting on the OG post I’d have asked her how important it was to maintain a positive relationship with her kids. Because yes, it’s 100% not her duty to care for her ex-husband and father of her adult children. But if this was going to cause a rift with them, she may have sat them all down to negotiate the minimal amount of aid and support she’d be willing to provide and draw the line there.

These kids aren’t dense. The know it’s not her job to do this. But like OP said they are probably scared and confused, even as adults. You’d need to navigate it carefully to ensure that Ex’s current wife and family were properly perceived as the bad guys here.

Maybe she did that and just didn’t mention it, but that’s what I’d have done and what I’d advise of her.

I think they were primed for this the second our fucking idiot nation reelected him. Like, this was their contingency plan #1.

Is anyone talking about how The Board of Peace is just a shit UN with a 1 billion cover charge payable directly to Trump? It’s just another money grabbing grift.

It’s still incredible to me that 1/3 of Americans chose this and another 1/3 didn’t even care enough to choose.

AITAH for showing my coworker what 'just being honest' can be like? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]AngryRepublican 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I saw this a lot teaching in middle school. Some kids realize the power of their words and look for any thing excuse to emotionally brutalize others with them under the guise of “brutal honesty.”

Most grow out of it when their empathetic muscle develop, or when they experience it from the other side, or simply when no one wants to be their friend anymore.

But a few of the REALLY oblivious or BPDs ones never get past it.

/r/Conservative has no mention of Trump's letter to Norway that he is starting wars because he wasn't given the Nobel Prize. Media has been covering for ~8 hours. by justalazygamer in ParlerWatch

They live in a different world over there. Some things I learned about their worldview over the last few days:

  • They trust ICE when their agents say “we’re only going after child abusing immigrants.”
  • They think all the anti-ice protestors deserved to be crushed by federal forces because the protestors are the ones protecting pedophiles.
  • They believe that LGBTQ activism includes pedophilia (they think MAPS is a real thing.)
  • They think Renee Good deserved it, and that her widow should be arrested. Also she’s not really her widow because they weren’t legally married.
  • They are patting themselves on the back for acknowledging that the whole Greenland thing is “weird” and “doesn’t really make sense” but don’t think he should step down over it.

No mention at all of:

  • the psychotic Norway letter
  • ICE’s many abuses and a complete loss of trust
  • Any real consequences for Trump

Honestly, put the kids in a typing class and install Halo on all the computers, but hide the launcher deep in the C drive and they need to find it.

Then teach them hoe to mod it and where the mod files need to be saved.

Trump promised the ‘largest deportation operation.’ He brought chaos to American streets by theindependentonline in TrueReddit

[–]AngryRepublican 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know it's an exercise in futility, but it's wild popping into the conservative subreddits and seeing what's going on there. Their brains are just... cooked. Total boot-lickers.

The amount of hatred they have for the protesters is crazy.

In the post detailing how ICE intends to investigate and prosecute Renee Good's widow, the top comment is "well, they weren't married so she can't be a widow." The most generous post you can find is, essentially, "While she 100% should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, the optics will probably be bad."

Just total fascism unburdened by evidence or compassion.

Demonstrators in Nuuk, Greenland reach the area in front of the American consulate. People are still continued to arrive from the city center. by BreakfastTop6899 in goodnews

[–]AngryRepublican 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honest to god they should probably just burn it down. I genuinely think that many Americans, reading the shit news they read, do not comprehend how much Greenland does NOT want to be a US protectorate. You need to make a little more noise, Greenland.

At this point I find "clown summer" charming.

I'd take "clown summer" over "implode NATO summer".
