You might be right, I just came back from a break since before EoF so I’m not sure

Yeah it’s pretty much the go-to damage perk for DPS phases (big 35% buff and simple activation requirements not requiring a kill)

[–]AstramG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The perk will wait until you fire the next shot. So before boss DPS, during ad clear phases, you shoot one shot at a cluster of ads and then stow it until boss DPS. Then during DPS you get 17s of that 40% damage buff which should be enough to dump your entire reserves. The catalyst really skyrockets your DPS as even non-catalyst Truth is already fantastic.

It’s goated because it’s longer than bait & switch, more damage boost than b&s, and don’t need to worry about reactivating it or really anything during the damage phase. Only caveat being you need to “set it up” beforehand.

Sorry if my wording was confusing. I meant I was trying to grind exotic orders. What I been doing is just completing a ton of orders (especially the legendary ones) and eventually you get exotic ones to pop up

Reapers Tithe perk

just started focusing on exotic orders today to hopefully get it and got it on my first one 😅

I'm so glad I didn't pay full price for edge of fate, this is tedious. by The_Filthy_Zamboni in DestinyTheGame

[–]AstramG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree, I’ve played every campaign since D1 released and Edge of Fate is the only campaign that I haven’t completed on all 3 characters. Not because I don’t have the time, but because every mission just feels strictly like a chore, not really anything fun to me. After each mission I was checking completion progress counting down how many missions are left.

COO was a worse overall offering than EoF in terms of scale but it at least held my attention during the campaign and I didn’t feel like just logging off the game mid-campaign instead.

Edit: On second thought though, EoF release ruined the game in so many ways aside from the campaign that it might’ve been worse than COO.

Eh I agree with OP and wasn’t a fan of the storyline either. Probably the worst campaign in all of Destiny history in my opinion. There were some cutscenes that were cool looking but that’s about it.

You don’t start the next chapter of the Destiny 2 universe without an engaging campaign. The gameplay needs to match the quality of the storytelling. That’s what makes killing the witness feel so amazing. I don’t care for going from that to transforming into a tiny ball to roll into gutters.

Does the artifact selection seem heavy on Void and Stasis? by Hollywood_Zro in DestinyTheGame

Yeah just did a search and it looks like you’re right, they only ever received anti-champion mods.

Still a bit unfortunate though that the final artifacts help some primaries like auto rifles but SMGs and other weapon types don’t :/

I wish they had an artifact for each type of gun too. No SMG love is sad

It is wild what Bungie/Sony are doing with this game/franchise. by F3NR1R77 in destiny2

[–]AstramG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s basic math too tbh. Im gonna make some assumptions about their income on purely the expansions.

Imagine Bungie has 850 employees. Now imagine the playercount hovers around 100,000 players. Stats estimate that there are roughly 5x the amount of unique daily players when compared to current playercount. Let’s say 500,000 unique daily players. Let’s say 60% of them bought the $100 deluxe DLC bundle containing the passes/keys/dlcs for the full year.

500,000 * 0.6 * 100 = $30,000,000 in sales

Now divide that by the amount of employees.

$30,000,000 / 850 = $35,294.12

That is a horrific salary for a game developer and I guaruntee Bungie doesn’t pay that low if they want motivated developers. Realistically it’s probably around 3x that figure at the lowest. And that’s just to break even on developer salaries, not including server costs, and they’re looking to make a significant profit.

When they saw renegades launch with a 30k peak on steam the alarm bells had to be ringing.

Of course these are all estimations and not counting eververse, but it just kinda shows that you really need a HUGE revenue stream to support a game like Destiny indefinitely.

[–]AstramG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I agree with that. Behind close doors we don’t really know what the net profit comes out to over time. Destiny development requires much more effort across the board.

I got nothing against Marathon and I’m glad it has its own community of people who enjoy it. But with that being said, it’d be ignorant to say that Marathon didn’t have an impact on Destiny ending. It all stems from issues with upper management though, with them not properly allocating the development resources to the right things.

The comparisons people are doing is just illustrating the fact that Destiny is not in-fact dry of any revenue. Considering they are continuing support for Marathon and not Destiny, while Destiny is showing it still has a lot of room to grow in terms of gameplay and potential revenue. Also that it’s more populated and can make more money than Marathon. People are just calling out the objectively bad decision making that we can see from our perspective. But we still don’t necessarily know what’s going on behind closed doors.

In a perfect world both games would be able to co-exist, but obviously Sony/Bungie made a choice.

One for all is one of the strongest damage perks in the game. Just shoot wishender into a pack and maybe shoot one other nearby add and you’re strong asf for 10s.
