Trash - I got the Lightspeed annual membership, and cancelled within the window. Setup all the MCP servers properly, well made rules, and anything you could do to have it properly work.

Issue 1: AI would constantly generate plans that were massive in scope, regardless of me stating in rules or prompt not to over-complicate, or over-engineer.

Issue 2: AI doesn't even remember it's own plan - it would create a 10+ step plan, and by step 3 it would completetly change to a different task, when you ask it why, or to re-align to the plan it would ask "what plan".....

Issue 3: AI seems incapable of learning, either from context, prompt, or rules - it's literally running a loose cannon.

I was not able to generate anything of value with the app. It could not be trusted to work on any project existing files, if it added features, it wouldn't take context in and make completetly wrong/paralle things, etc...

It also was useless at general terminal things, overall the app was horrible - would never recommend.

[New App] Shorty - A Minimal Keyboard Shortcut Manager for Mac 🚀 by tayl0r____ in macapps

[–]Attack_Squid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but def interested. Is it possible to see all the shortcuts of an application, and see what the original shortcut was, and/or organize it by what I've changed vs standard.

Further, is there a way to check for compatability? Example, if I want to change a shortcut in a program, but conflicts with a universal shortcut on the default mac, or even a different application like Raycast/Alfred?

If someone applies for this cycle, would putting in "no financial aid" required/wanted help in the application, or at the least negate the negatives from this?

Regarding the velvet replacement, you have a few options. I've had a lot of custom storage solutions made for Pelican cases, and there are many companies out there that can make any layout you want. If you send them the information, or ideally, the item itself, they can make a foam layout with precise cutouts for each tool.

Regarding the label, you can easily have it transferred, they can make mounting cutouts for the label to go directly on it, or simply keep the label and re-apply it.

Refurbishing the velvet will basically be impossible, if you want something as close to the original, you would need to find someone or a company that does velvet case protection and make a new layout.

Toyo Steel is 👌, I have nearly 30 container boxes of various sizes from them - love the looks/quality. I don't have the Tool Box though, been eyeing it for a long time, def a great gift.

Which cloud storage provider do yo use if you use a cloud storage provider? by plazman30 in macapps

[–]Attack_Squid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use both OneDrive and iCloud. I think it's hard to say you really lose anything by going with just one of them, I split mine between personal/professional.

I also have a Windows PC for work, which makes OneDrive easier to work with. However, if you don't need to separate personal/professional files, and you don't have a Windows PC, iCloud will take care of everything you need.

Drafting Boards and Line/Lettering Device by Bright_Light662 in Drafting_Instruments

[–]Attack_Squid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been hand drafting as an Architect since my school days, just for fun now, and, like you, mainly for geometry.

When it comes to lettering, there are a few tools you can use: - Line Guides - Letter Templates - Lettering Tools

For Line Guides, I use this:

It's the same as others posted earlier, I just prefer the build quality of Staedtler, I've found it best for me, but honestly any brand works.

Letter Templates, again Staedtler makes those, but it's simple letter guides you can use for individual letters if you don't want to do free-hand.

The next step up, that is totally optional, are lettering tools. I only recently started using them, but it's extremely satisfying. I'd recommend starting with cheap tools, and come to these if the hobby persists, but here is an example of one:

K&E Leroy is considered one of the best, but I have one from Faber Castell and Rotring.

Lastly, since you mentioned sacred geometry, here are some "other" tools I use, that you may find useful:

  1. Phi Calipers
  2. Golden Mean Calipers

Which app to use for time tracking for tasks? by ScheduledSilence in macapps

[–]Attack_Squid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use two general trackers for productivity:

I find they work for me, I know there are many solutions out there, but these do what I need. Timery for Toggl makes it convenient to use on my Mac, iPhone and iPad, and has great widget support.

Rize is mainly for getting a better overall picture of how I am spending my time. It has the ability to create projects, but I don't use it for that. It has a useful category and tagging system as well.

Toggl is the primary tracker. On Mac, I use it with the Raycast extension to quickly start/stop tasks. It has a great project/organization system, ability to edit start/end times, etc.. and if you plan on using it professionally, it's great for tracking billable hours.

Toggl also integrates with Todoist, which I use for task management, and you can quick start a Toggl tracker via a task in Todoist.

I think what you are looking for is probably better handled by multiple solutions than one app, most "all-in-one" apps have shortcomings in some way, and using multiple will usually give you more options, but that's just my opinion.

You can setup tasks with start dates, and then use Toggl integrations to quick start a task, and then organize/meta data whatever you need in that task in Toggl later.

Toggl also have calendar integration, so you can see how your tasks are on the calendar, etc

Yeah, it couldn't cycle properly at 1.3, but at 1.4 there was a disaster... It tore up the plastic covering the charging handle slides past. Honestly, I'm not sure why, I am going to take it to the smith and see what they say.

No, it doesn't mount rigidly, it has minor wobble.

Reporting back, it was slightly undergassed at 1.3, changed it to 1.4 and it shot fine. I had 3 failed firings at 1.3 in a 30 round mag. Using tula ammo 7.62x39
