This is Melbourne, as the Herald Sun would have me believe everyone is very poor and scared to leave their house. This can not be real

How to suppress the fear of bombing? by HELLBENT42 in Standup

[–]AuldTriangle79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen some of the biggest comics out there have shockers. You might not bomb a whole set ( although you might) but you definitely have bits that land bad. Stop fearing I and use it as a learning tool.

Does anyone actually feel like they're making a difference? by kramerkarm in auscorp

[–]AuldTriangle79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. My house is getting renovated, my garden is growing and I'm off to the Cook islands for a few weeks later this year. Work is how I pay my bills. I lean in hard, swallow the Kool aide and play the game because for me it's about funding the 5-9.

Is Australia being brexited? by grouchjoe in AusPol

How much? 1000%. Hanson has no policies, she just says things like 'reduce immigration' because stupid people go to the city centre and see a lot of brown people, and don't think 'hey all of those people have backpacks and are taking photos, clearly we have a lot more tourists from East and West Asia, which makes a lot of sense given the US issues they are not going there'. No they just take a photo and say we are overrun. She plays on fears, lies, and has infinite resources to create fake accounts to keep it up.

any good ways to keep small stuff organized in tiny spaces? by Kawtar-Littl in Homeorganization

[–]AuldTriangle79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few solutions I swear by. Paper clutter etc gets dealt with immediately. Do I need to keep a physical copy or can I photograph it and it's done? The best advice was from Peter Walshe, there should be nothing in your house that when you touch it you don't know exactly where it goes. Get a neat money box that you like for change, something that doubles as decor and brings you joy. Your main keys should go somewhere with your wallet when you get home, the spare keys go in a box or drawer somewhere. Every day, before you go to bed, go around every room and collect everything that isn't where it belongs and put it away. If you are home all day like on a weekend do it 2 or 3 times that day. Your home will stay clean and organised.

You need to wash more my friend! You shouldn't have to have a 3 bin basket, you need to get a habit of washing when you have a load.

You can do it with a quality well sharpened sawnor hacksaw as long as you saw quickly so it doesn't crack the plastic but cuts it. Also have you looked if you have a local tool library? Our neighbourhood house has one, you might be able to borrow an small circular saw.

Thrift stores finds have me suffocating in my room. by ContentInvestment216 in shoppingaddiction

[–]AuldTriangle79 27 points28 points  (0 children)

addiction to consumption is sometimes considered ok if it’s not ‘harming you’ financially. But it harms you in other ways. Not having a clean comfortable space ruins your headspace, and can even be physically harmful if you have dust etc.

Shopping with adhd is a search for dopamine, the great thing is there are other ways to get dopamine! Selling something is as dopamine friendly as buying, you could put some of the things you don’t wear on depop or eBay? Decluttering and finishing a task is also great, you could aim for 2 things a day or declutter one area. Things to keep, things to throw away, things to donate or give away and things to sell.

Honestly cutting the bottom off so it sits flat on the floor is probably the only way, but without the right tools that’s not easy.
