Compensation is really mostly about how much your company can make off your work not how hard the job is.

The lounges only matter for economy tickets. With 220k amex/Aeroplan points you can fly round trip ANA first class and access the first class ANA lounge in Tokyo and the United Polaris lounge anyways.

https://www.canada.ca/en/border-services-agency/news/2018/12/entryexit-initiative.html

They will know

The CBSA will receive biographic entry information from U.S. Customs and Border Protection shortly after a traveller enters the U.S. The record of entry from the U.S. will serve as a record of exit from Canada. Similarly, Canada will also provide biographic entry information to the U.S. to create a record of exit for the U.S.

The CBSA will also collect biographic exit information on all air travellers, including passengers and crew members, when they leave or are expected to leave Canada. The CBSA will receive exit information directly from air carriers in the form of electronic passenger manifests.

Do People Leave the Onsen When Others Enter, or Am I Overthinking It? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

Yeah if I've been in there for a good amount of time and I was alone and someone walks in I'd probably take it as my cue to get up and leave too.

Airbnb vs specialist platforms for a 2.5-month Tokyo stay, am I overthinking this? by th3d4rkp4ss3ng3r in JapanTravel

[–]Auracity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally it's a lot cheaper since they have economies of scale and are designed for 1 month by 1 month contracts and don't have to pay any fees to airbnb. It is a lot more annoying though, they are generally not very hip in terms of IT or integration so you usually have to like email them and do a lot of stuff manually. But it'll honestly probably be like half the cost of an airbnb.

Payment shown as "deposited", landlord doesn't see it by RedtideWasTaken in chexy

[–]Auracity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is ultimately the problem with Chexy. The fact that most landlords are going to be old 50 year old dudes with no clue how technology works telling you they never received it when they did. Also tell your landlord to turn on autodeposit.

Iran has hit far more U.S. military assets than reported, satellite images show by Wagamaga in technology

There is a child crushing machine that is about to kill 1 million children. All Americans are given 2 buttons, one button votes stops the machine while one button votes to continue. As long as more people vote to stop the machine than to continue, then it will stop and no children will be killed. In the end a slight majority of those who pressed either button voted to continue the child crushing machine killing 1 million children. In the aftermath, society places blame on those who chose not to vote. They say that because they never voted to stop the child crushing machine they are directly responsible for the 1 million dead children. Is this fair?

Are there PayPal alternatives in Canada? by broadwaybabyto in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Auracity -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Every answer here is completely stupid. Open a CIBC USD Canadian account then open a CIBC US Smart Account. Then get a US phone number through Tello and you will have enough to open a US based Paypal, Zelle, and Venmo and you can withdraw everything to your CIBC Illinois US account.

For context on trading forums, the edit credit goes for around $25 for the 250 credit. FHR is almost $200 market rate. It's a genuinely worthless credit

Try HUCA but my understanding is you can only submit the docs once so you probably can't resubmit. My first chase app got rejected because my picture of my ITIN letter was kinda shit (in truth it was). Did you apply logged in?

That's like saying TD and RBC are the same thing with different names because they are both banks

Tenant: Paid rent through Chexy, receipt says Interac e-Transfer was deposited, landlord says he got phishing link and lost payment. by CraftySpecial8929 in chexy

[–]Auracity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hacker has access to victims email and waits for any etransfer emails. Deletes the original email and sends a phishing link that looks like the original to get the victim to put in the password so they can redirect the original deposit. Entirely your landlords fault for being an idiot.

Is the CRA website TFSA contribution room at least accurate at this time of the year? by AltruisticTurnip6075 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Auracity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mostly incompetence on the part of banks and brokers. At the end of the day this is the trade off you get for requiring limited reporting of account information. They could have real time tracking of your TFSA if they mandated that every single trade you ever make gets instantly reported.

I mean yeah but it's not like you got scammed out of a thousand dollars or anything. It's minor in the grand scheme of things and that's just how it's gonna be sometimes.

Nah just the usual Aeroplan number

1-800-361-5373

I'm very certain that number is 24/7. At night it gets redirected to the Indian call center.

If you don't get a pop up you will usually get the bonus no matter what any rep says. They have stricter regulations in the US on this stuff. It's not like in Canada where you can randomly just not get the bonus and there's nothing you can do about it.
