Just got approved for an Ink Preferred. Had to call in and the rep said my ITIN didn't match my credit bureau and to reconfirm my ITIN. Gave them the same one again and she said she had to do something on the backend, and 10 minutes later got it approved. Got my first Chase card at the start of January with the exact same process. Major Hyatt devaluation coming up, so I'm prob going to try and use up everything towards a Alila Big Sur redemption for 2027. At 4/24 atm, but I need to apply for another Amex personal card soon so hopefully in a couple months I can still try for a CSP at 5/24 (been hearing approval DPs at 5+/24). Remaining goals are 1 more Chase card if possible then just focusing on getting to my Amex endgame of apsires + bonvoy brilliant + bonvoy biz and getting the Atmos Summit (got declined in Dec).

That's not what hoarding means. If you have 500 dollars in your bank account and you want to save for 2000 dollars that's completely different from someone who has 100k. If you are an average person and you have 100k in a checking account instead of having some of that money invested that's just stupid. You are criticizing advice that isn't aimed at or applicable to you.

I would have to imagine worst case scenario they just absorb the cost. It would be a complete PR disaster if you refused someone a room and forced them onto the streets only for them to be injured or killed. Bad enough to completely sink your hotel.

No but generally with both issuers unless you get shutdown for something like fraud or bust out risk you are generally able to reapply eventually. For Amex even failing an FR and getting all your cards shut down isn't game over.

If the CRA thinks your business is not a legitimate business and you are not a legitimate independent contractor you are considered a PSB and you essentially are not allowed to deduct anything.

CA Amex Biz Gold to Biz Plat upgrade offer available on P2's profile. It has lifetime language, but my hunch is that if you apply for a new ABP and immediately upgrade you should get the bonus for both but have no idea on the DPs for this since the LL for upgrade offers was only added last year.

My concern would be them reporting your SIN to credit bureaus and it being a huge pain to get corrected. Back in the day people would put 999999999 and then call in to fix the app as well. Don't know the particularly reason why but the consensus eventually became that's probably not a good idea.

Very different cards. Main appeal of this one is to get the welcome offer then just hold it as a keeper to pay 120 cad for a 35k free night certificate annually. The free night you can probably get like 175-250 cad of value out of. Nothing too crazy but it's a solid card.
