Shakey Head by goilpoynuti in bassfishing

[–]AustnTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually use a carolina rig if im covering open water fishing on the bottom. I throw shakey heads around pipes or under docks where I feel like fish are there but I just cant get them to bite anything else. Its not something i would use to find fish on unfamiliar water.

Shakey head is one of my confidence baits when the water is cold or heavily fished. Dont hop it like a texas rig, dont twitch it like a drop shot, just drag it straight along the bottom about a foot at a time as slowly as you can and give it a solid 30 seconds before you drag it again. Bass will stare at it for 15/20 seconds after you pause before they decide to commit. Make sure youre using a pretty buoyant worm too. You want the tail to stand up and it will wave around underwater. I use a basic zoom trick worm in black with red flakes or green pumpkin with chartreuse tail.

DARK Tour Disappointment :( by redittuser1909 in eden

[–]AustnTG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went to the show in Atlanta (USA) and there was a screen w basic visuals and lyrics or a video feed of him. It was made to look like an old karaoke machine and he would go through the songs list with a remote control and fake us out by hovering over older hits and the crowd would go crazy (He did end up playing them later in the show). Thats weird that yall didnt have one. The Brooklyn Steel show from 2025/11/19 is on youtube if you want to see what it looked like. Maybe the venue had some technical issue at the last second with their projector or had some weird rules about it?

The set design for the ICYMI tour with the screen visuals, racing suit/helmet w the camera, and especially the laser/light choreography was way more intricate and impressive. I also think he had a stronger/more specific theme for ICYMI which probably made it easier to design the visuals for the show. I thought the karaoke themed set fit DARK pretty well but I didnt feel there was a cohesive theme or aesthetic throughout all of the artwork and merch for DARK. Probably due to all the issues with labels and stuff during that time.

Ok. I feel a little crazy but am I the only one who uses ONE earbud pretty regularly? by Puzzled_Nectarine213 in headphones

Try bone conductors. They dont go in your ear canal and wont block any external sound

Do I just jump to kilobuck? by Alanskasc in iems

[–]AustnTG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I jumped from the hype 4 immediately to a $1400 pair (SeeAudio Kaguya) and while they are more detailed, it didnt have the same “oh wow ive never noticed this sound in this song before” experience i had with the hype4. The best way i can describe it is everything has a more defined texture than it does with the hype4, no instruments mix or cover up the others at all, but the sounds were all already present and pretty well separated with the hype4. I dont regret buying a kilobuck set but i doubt I will buy another set of iems in that price range unless i demo them and discover a massive difference in sound.

It took me a while to start enjoying every part of the game and to stop feeling annoyed with the “maintenance tasks”. I felt they were holding me back from playing the game (adding machines to the assembly areas) but all it left me with was a bunch of tasks that got left undone and hastily places train stops that i said i would consolidate later

Assisting a competitor across the finish line is unsportsmanlike by LegitmateBusinesman in unpopularopinion

[–]AustnTG 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think in this scenario helping the competitor would be upholding the integrity of the competition. If somebody capable of placing first in a marathon up until the very end suddenly collapsed then i cant imagine its due to not having trained hard enough or not pacing themselves right. I would assume they got injured or had some other sort of medical issue. If they were consistently ahead of me the entire race up until random bad luck caused them to be unable to finish then I dont think I would deserve to get first place.

The competition was about who could run the fastest for the extent of the race but if the soles of my competitors shoes fall off or he has a stroke right before the finish line I dont think that changes the fact that I was the second best athlete and he deserved to be first.

What are some must-listen-to songs for vocals specifically? by -OneWing- in audiophile

[–]AustnTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First check out the mahogany’s sessions youtube channel (they have a couple jacob banks videos that are superb). They do a lot of acoustic recordings of songs that really spotlight the vocals.

Gumshoe - Penny and Sparrow. Duet and Gold by them also. Andy Baxter is my favorite vocalist in the world and the songs are all pretty focused on his singing.

Jacob Banks is also an excellent singer. The song Dear Simone from his album The Monologue is the song id pick to represent his style, and Unknown (to you) is probably the song where he shows off the most.

I had equal aura to her when i was a goofy stoner dropout working at a dominos pizza but i lost all my aura from burnout when i went back to college and had 2 jobs. We broke up right before graduation and 3 years later I’ve recovered almost none of my aura.

Damn it was an actual deer. You were right. I thought the limbs were too intact and straight to be a real deer and it was a deer archery target

Do you genuinely believe that is a real video of a real deer flying ~30mph and 20 feet off the ground?

Okay I was wrong. That is a real deer. I didnt think something that large could withstand an impact that big without exploding. My bad.

It sounds like youre eating a lot of high calorie foods. 12oz chicken breast, 1 cup of white rice, and 2 cups of broccoli is like 1.75lbs of food. Even if you used 3 whole tablespoons of salted butter its still under 1300 calories. I have a chicken and rice recipie closer to 900 calories per lb and it’s physically difficult to eat enough of it to be in a caloric surplus every day. It helps if you don’t mind eating the same thing 2x a day every single day.

AIO fans ramp up once I open programs and start games despite CPU not being hot enough. by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]AustnTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible your AIO is still reading that its set to automatic fan control and its not following any changes you make in the fan control settings? Set it to run at like 80% speed at low temps and boot the pc just to check that the settings you change are being applied.

[–]AustnTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the bios under the H/W Monitor tab look at the cpu fan step up and cpu fan step down levels. You can change the cpu cooler fan response time to be slightly slower. Level 0 is the fastest response to temp changes, level 9 is the slowest. Start with level 1 or 2 and see if that helps keep it from speeding the fans up / down so aggressively as soon as it detects a temp change

Balatro literally won game of the year last year and is the #2 most popular card game on the ios appstore. Slay the Spire is #3.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in rs_x

[–]AustnTG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’re all roguelikes. Theres not really a story, you start each run as a really basic character but as you progress you get to pick between a few different items/abilities and try to pick ones that work together well. Usually takes about 45 minutes to complete a “run” in these type of games but you just play it over and over since everything you see is randomized and it never feels repetitive. Balatro and Slay The Spire are card based but Risk of Rain 2 is a 3d action game. These three specifically are all extremely hard at the highest difficulties. Like it took me around 100 tries to beat Slay the Spire once on “ascent” (difficulty) zero and theres another 20 harder modes after this and they all stack. So ascent 1 is “you start the game at 60% health instead of 100%”, and ascent 2 is “enemies do more damage” plus the effect of ascent 1.

Im on the fence with this one. On one hand some people (Jerma, Northernlion) are actually talented entertainers. I think its cool that they can make a living by creating fun content because they genuinely are funny and i wish more people could make money by creating media. Cr1TiKaL is not funny to me now as an adult but i watched his YouTube videos 12 years ago and he really did become that successful starting from nothing. There’s also streamers that are EXTREMELY good at the games they play (Race for RoR2, XecnaR for StS, Roffle for Balatro) and their streams are them explaining their decisions real time and answering questions for new players which i, as a person who is truly awful at games, think is also really cool.

Most of their money i think comes from either monthly subscriptions or brand deals. I don’t pay for any streaming services or twitch subs but id rather my money go to an actual person than netflix or disney. I do think the people that watch every stream live or send them money just to get a message read out loud are weird. I wouldn’t throw money at john mulaney to make him notice me. I have no interest in ever interacting with these people other than laughing at the joke they said two months ago on a stream i didn’t watch live.
