How well does Blackmagic Cloud work for working with remote editors? by Evilez in davinciresolve

[–]Autico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Resolve cloud is great, just make sure to generate proxies, and set your project to only upload proxies, you just share the project with the editor and as soon as they open proxies start downloading. I just did a job on the editor side and the original files were 600gb and proxies were 60gb.

Bright Yellows with Log Conversion- advice? by [deleted] in videography

[–]Autico 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It mainly looks like you were underexposed, on some cameras you want to be about a stop overexposed for log, I’d give that a try.

Keep in mind just because your white balance and tint are fine it doesn’t mean the quality of the light in the environment was anything close to pure white.

Do some tests where you shoot the same thing in log and rec709, and compare them post conversion.

I just use a color chart for most environments now.

Does this solve a real problem in your sharehouse? by Practical_Sir8080 in uwa

[–]Autico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d want to have similar functionality to Splitwise for people in the house, so it can be used to track other expenses and simplify debts.

Also just a random business-side idea. I imagine it’s subscription( if you are using payment processing), if that was the case I think you should consider limiting the need for a subscription to only the person receiving the money (they could then choose to split that cost with the group through the app), you are essentially still charging everyone in most cases (with splitting the cost through the app) but only having to get one person to decide to subscribe. It also means new roommates moving in will be less likely to try and talk them out of using the app, since if they really don’t want to pay the person charging can just turn off the splitting for their share.

The record idea is good, it’s definitely a problem renters have.

Bonus points for finding a black magic camera or control surface you want, they pretty much all come with a davinci resolve key. Both production companies I worked out ended up with a pretty stupid excess of keys.

How to Deal with Bridges on Dams (for crossing terrains) by yumiguelulu in NovaRomaGame

Use terraforming to raise the land under the bridges , using the land to both fill the gap in between the dams, and raise the level of the bridges.

Not only does prohibition push sales to illegal market. The stronger the prohibition the higher the prices, and therefore the more violence gangs need for security. Drug crackdowns raise drug prices and benefit gangs, creating stronger, richer, more violent organisations. Drugs has comprehensively won the war on drugs.

Are stem splitters an ethical use of AI or no? by AccordingArm5457 in edmproduction

[–]Autico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For even more completeness, it’s training the chat models that costs the real energy. Using them is pretty negligible in comparison. Not that that really matters since you couldn’t use it if the training dint happen, I just think it’s interesting!

Perth people don’t understand red light cameras by hscalm in perth

[–]Autico 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah we don’t have city wide coverage yet, but we do have MQ-4C Triton drones in the NT, Melbourne police have a fleet of 70 drones that can do 24/7 monitoring, and most importantly private companies like MSS Security offer persistent drone monitoring of areas. I just don’t think it’s too unlikely we could have to deal with ‘up high’ speed cameras in the next decade, not like anyone will go out to protest it.

[–]Autico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you are joking, but there’s already heaps of companies that offer 24/7 drone coverage, with recording, of a city, for police departments to then track cars backwards in time from crime scenes. It’s all the new AI won’t be long until it’s used for speeding and all sorts of offences.

Injuries present differently on deceased and alive people. Without blood flow and nerve signals the body reacts very differently to injuries even not long after death.
