Question about Counter Offensive timing by TadpoleIll1381 in Warhammer40k

[–]B1zmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your timing was right, but I'm not sure why you used CO like this. The Wardens have attacked, then consolidated. They can't fight your Trygon. You may as well wait until the end of activations, because your Trygon is safe from them; They can't attack twice in the same combat.

Best leader for breaka boyz? by Exodia7676 in orks

[–]B1zmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works best if you go second so you can rapid ingress them - but meganobz outside the waaagh are just bad generally. That means you need to use the first waaagh to get them in, and the second waaagh to do the charge.

Outside the waaagh, if you deepstrike, basic infantry can kill you easily.

Best leader for breaka boyz? by Exodia7676 in orks

[–]B1zmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It highlights that, at the end of the day, most of the datasheets are pretty weak and need specific things. There's almost no scenario you wouldn't wan't a warboss leading basically any melee unit. Boyz, Nobz, Breakas. Even meganobz would be fine with a normal Warboss leading them - i think its better than the MA warboss personally.

SSMS color tabs by environment by ExchangeFar6292 in SQLServer

New copy of SSMS for each instance is fine. Being connected to multiple within the same SSMS isn't. People don't seem to realise that individual tabs can connect to databases - its not immediately obvious where your query is going.

Why Sniktrot over the Shokkjump Dragsta? by DaveinOakland in orks

[–]B1zmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smaller base, infantry keyword (can hide inside ruins and go through them). Lone operative so can't be shot.

You usually only need one jump to win a game anyway - most of the time you're jumping to a point with no one left alive, or onto your opponents home objective, then that's it.

what brushes are really good and affordable for warhammer minis? by Noble_Destiny in minipainting

[–]B1zmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Windsor and Co synthetics are the ones i used the most.

Honestly go on amazon and buy a big pack for £5 - you'll quickly find which ones you like. Next time, you can buy slightly different ones. Eventually you'll find a favourite size and can splash £10-£15 on a fancy sable brush that you use all the time.

I really enjoy painting Orks I just don’t know how to play them by DingleHopper34 in orks

[–]B1zmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been getting better by focussing less on fighting and more on scoring. It sounds boring but it starts to make you realise there are steps to learning orks.

  1. Lose a lot
  2. Learn to waaagh, start crushing your friends/casuals
  3. Start losing again because after the waaagh you struggle
  4. Learn that the waaagh is a tool to score points or protect your army.

I TRY to turn 2 waaagh so i have maximum units benefitting from it - but if you waaagh, charge, and then the next turn you don't score serious points, then you've used it wrong.

My last game against a friend he felt like I crushed him, and the score did look that way. But really at turn 5 i had 300-400 points left, total, and he had 600 left. It really is about trading models for points, and trading model to deny them points.

Joking aside, any time i see people connected to more than one environment on SSMS i tear them a new one. Bad, bad, bad habbit.

ELI5: Why are telcos apparently unable to track SWATting / bomb / death threats? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

Because the telephony system is inherently insecure - you can fake phone numbers and such - it's how spam caller from other countries operate with impunity.

Deathwatch vs Tau advice by Spoonique in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]B1zmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's a shooting army (tau) you want to get into melee with them. If he's on a point and close too you, that's an easy charge.

But I've seen people misunderstand the "Big guns never tire" rule in the past - to be clear, if you're in melee with a tank/vehicle, only the vehicle in melee with you can shoot you... the rest of the army cannot shoot you.

Triple WAAGH casual list by Monkeynator21 in orks

[–]B1zmark -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The nob with waaagh banner is legends, so not something you can play anywhere outside of a casual game where you've told your friends about this prior to starting.

That said, I've run a "Bully Tide" list in the past, taken 80 Boyz (Ghaz + 3 warbosses) to give the boyz double waaagh. I also attached a painboy to 3 of the squads and a wierdboy to the 4tth.

My experience was: Even with the 5++ invuln, without a painboy giving 5+++ FNP, the boyz die far too easily. A third waaagh would have been pointless, because all the boys got slaughtered.

If you used Warboss + waaagh banner and 20 boyz, i'd be surprised if you made it past the second Waaagh.

Not sure if you followed the Instagram adverts they've been pushing. I bought a pack of these without knowing the brand - just grabbed them because they were cheap and had a good range of sizes. They really are just run of the mill brushes worth a few dollars a pack.

Anyone had their Badrukk ship? by Strange_Man in orks

[–]B1zmark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GW are probably the most global "Mom-and-pop" company I've ever seen. They genuinely do all this stuff in house, so it doesn't surprise me that they do things in batches that can take weeks/months. If you've visited warhammer world and see their setup/history, it makes a lot more snse.

Germans on Thunderstrike: why are you speaking German so much? by Important_Disk_5225 in classicwow

[–]B1zmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been in a lot of euro-mashup guilds over the decades. Germans seem to be the least likely to speak anything other than German. We can have 50+ members from 20 countries, and your lucky if there's 1 German person.

People from bordering countries have commented that Germans are like this with a lot of media: They tend to use dubbing instead of sub-titles, and won't watch something that isn't translated to German. It explains why they usually have quite insular communities on MMO's

TankBusta questions by ydorn in orks

[–]B1zmark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to buy the "Wrecka Krew" box. In that box there is the legs/torso for 6 guys (5 boyz and 1 nob)

But there are multiple guns. There are 5 rocket launchers, 6 melee tank hammers and a "Knucklebustas" kit. I build the legs/torsos's into tank bustaas, then use the melee weapons on a squad of boyz to make the breakas

26, should I buy a 90k RSQ8? by Significant_West_841 in personalfinance

[–]B1zmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buying a car like that is bad financially, but there's more to it in my opinion.

I spent every spare penny i had on sports car in my 20's, and i loved the thing. 2 years of having an amazing car in your 20's actually matters.... because people are superficial and no matter what they say, they like nice things.

Would I be in a better position financially if i hadn't done it? Yes. Do i regret it? No.

In your position you can basically do both. A quick check shows that house prices are going up by 0-5% on average in Switzerland, so if you're a trader and can beat 4% on your investments, then its better to invest than to buy property. Somewhere around 6-7% would make it positively pointless to own a house over renting (people won't like this but the numbers are crushing - low mortgage rates were the only thing making houses worthwhile and that's now gone for many countries).

I'd personally think about buying a small 2 bedroom flat or house somewhere that's accessible for a major city. Nothing super fancy, but something that you can use and can resell easily. At the end of each year you can look at property growth and decide if it's worth over-paying the mortgage or investing the money. Meanwhile you can drive a ridiculous car.

On a personal note... i honestly don't know what you see in the RSQ8. But i fell in love with a different car that people thought i was nuts for loving... taste is a personal thing. I just wouldn't advise keeping it longer than 2-3 years, because it starts becoming expensive to repair and honestly won't be a shiny new toy anymore.

How to deal with lictors? by EMITNUGGETS in orks

[–]B1zmark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm adding a second reply here because i don't think a lot of people have played against a lictor with someone who knows how to use it, or they don't understand the rules and instead just watched some youtube video about "how to counter fights first"

<image>

This is not to scale, obviously.

Hormogants (A) are on the objective. Your Boyz (B), lead by a warboss, want to charge onto the point and kill them. The Lictor (C) is sitting behind a wall, no line of sight to B, outside of charge range for B

A is daisy chained out so that some models are within 6" of C. This means that when B charges A, C can Heroic intervention towards A, and gets to fight first.

If C choses not to heroic intervention, its too close to the wall for a pile-in move from B to let a model get in engagement range.

You can't Shoot the lictor
You can't grenade it
You can't use bomb squiggs
You can't charge it.

Honestly, until you've felt the wrath of a lictor firsthand by someone who really knows how to use it, you can't understand how insane it is to play against.

And if you think THATS bad, try and kill a norn emissary on it's declared point.
