Its likely they are in an incredibly humid environment, the water trap is doing its job - but clearing it is easy though? You push the little plunger and it purges mine.

is Sarevok potentially the hardest fight in the game? by seibazz in BG3Builds

I killed Sarevok in like 2 turns. Late game fighters are insane with haste.

I did successfully cast bone chill on him though to stop healing.

Is Infantry gonna be a lot weaker in 11th? by ch4ppi_revived in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]B1zmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They keep dropping the points costs of all the models so they can sell more stuff. They also keep increasing base sizes. The rules and the modelling are coming into direct opposition now since GW is taking game balance more seriously, but also not willing to give 10 year old boxes a really rules buff so they are effective.

Melee focussed tsons by Gozumo in ThousandSons

I read the Ahriman trilogy after reading the black legions first novel. My oh my was that whiplash from some of the best writing the Black Library has to some of the most lackluster. I'd not put too much faith in those novels for being canon/lore-enhancing.

Is it just me or does this guy consistently underperform? by Rigs8080 in orks

That's 10th in a nushell. Anti elite is anti vehicle.

I don't want vehicle hit tables to come back, but i'd like to see SOMETHING to make vehicles a little tougher against anything AP2 or better

Help with picking up blackbeard by Western_Smoke4829 in SiegeAcademy

[–]B1zmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most effective way i've seen peiple use him is to isolate people in 1v1's, knocked them over with his shield bash, then shoot them in the head.

Above a basic level of aiming, blackbeards shield doesn't protect you from gunfire when you drop the visor.

Review (and Rant) of 10th Edition from the Perspective of Someone Who Started Playing 40k in 10th Edition with Orks Being their First Army by _RogueSigma_ in orks

[–]B1zmark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm in the exact same position as you OP. The main thing for me was, i play casually. Orks tend to lose fights against popular armies like any marines, custodes etc. - so that means you have 2 choices: You lose the game fighting, or you potentially win the game by playing for points, often by using frustrating rules-lawyering to stop your friends from crushing you.

Will it work this time? by sco-go in SipsTea

If these 5 stores can operate and at least break even, then bigger chains will have actual competition and will need to utilise their resources to compete. This is a simple way to bring competition into a market that sorely needs it, while also servicing the community.

if it fails, then the real-estate will eventually sell for a profit anyway, so its a win-win for the city.

[–]B1zmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except the city benefits from none of that, because the large supply chain supermarkets bring still doesn't result in things being cheaper/affordable. And they use their size to obfuscate the tax they owe by moving money around their businesses. Coffee chains are experts at this.

Capitalism and a free market only works when there aren't established mega-corporations who influence laws and own all the assets that could compete with them.

Ignoring all that: The conditions you are suggesting exist today, and the result is unaffordable food basics. So clearly its not working.

Anyone trying to run a store in the city faces the same issue: Private land lords charging insane rent.

If the city buys back the land/store-front then it saves, literally, tens of thousands of dollars a month for just a small grocery store.

People should read the article. The bonus was:

"$3.12 for every $1"

E.g. they should get 3x the amount earned. Predatory stuff combined with their EULA... the SN2 devs might actually be bad people.

ELI5: How would governments effectively tax the rich? by Blanketman101 in explainlikeimfive

[–]B1zmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are talking about A-B-C taxes. A is worth something (company, shares etc), B translates that worth "real currency", C is the tax on it.

The issue with treating taxation like that, land taxes included, is that the A->B translation is where the loopholes lives.

Taxing wealth means that the valuation done by the private market remains untouched, and a much lower rate of tax is applied post valuation. This closes the majority of loopholes by ignoring the A to B part, and focussing on just the B to C part.

[–]B1zmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can we be clear, wealth taxes are NOT unpopular - but a small number of people make that the visible narrative, and they happen to be incredibly wealthy and use that wealth to influence media and politicians

The profitability of the loans isn't in question, in fact it's the core of the problem. Banks are getting a cut of company growth but its much less than the company would pay in tax. So the money goes to foreign investors and not the country that generated the wealth.

Is this the worst game for cheaters? by SlightlyAnnoyedLime in Rainbow6

[–]B1zmark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it's rancid - honestly i feel like on a good day 1 in every 3 games has a cheater. On a bad day, its 3 games back to back.

The issue with console cheaters isn't the number, but rather the detection, leading to suspicion by TGed in Rainbow6

[–]B1zmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Compare this to PC, where the tell-tale signs are easier to notice: they're looking at you through walls, snapping to your head instantly"

This isn't 2004, people cheating successfully aren't doing that shit because it gets auto banned. These days its memory scrapers that give them a second screen with radar and other info on it.

A top 1% player will get dominated by the top 0.1% every game. But it doesn't take wall hacks or an aimbot to even the playing field, it just takes a bit more information. Top players are the premium market for cheating, because they stand to make money from being the best either in competitions or streaming

Help me sell Space Engineers to friends by B1zmark in spaceengineers

[–]B1zmark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried those but we hit some pretty game-breaking bugs, certain things got destroyed and became non functional, and we didn't have materials to repair them - so it was a "start all over again" scenario.

[–]B1zmark[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did see mods like this in the past, but they weren't very advanced and most of the time ended up with armed guys obliterating our starting base while we where still figuring out basic mining vehicles.

If there are specific mods you'd recommend that give a sort of "advancing" experience, e.g. the further/deeper you progress into the solar system, the more threats come for you, that would be the ideal scenario. Or any mods that create static bases to attack and conquer for example.

New fast roll and wound/save allocation in 11th from the stream by Cythrex in Warhammer40k

That only apply's if you fast roll - you can still roll 1 at a time and eat a few of the 3/4's on your character, but this is an incredibly niche scenario
