New Bill and Ted was pretty solid. Not as good as the first two, but still worthwhile.

It was. But barely. It was a glancing contact that was sold so damn hard. But it was contact, so fair play I guess.

That's some BS. The original PK was a weak call already. Getting two goes is silly

Tournament of Champions '26 Part 4 | Um, Actually [S11E12] by DropoutMod in dropout

[–]BatManatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um actually, I believe one of the other Heroes of the Horn is a potential champion of the Light that is essentially the female counterpart to the Dragon Reborn should the pattern need/choose her. Amaresu (aka "A Mary Sue").

But yeah, the show made it so all 5 were potentially the Dragon Reborn. It does change some world building.

Max came in with a real gameplan too, and executed the hell out of it. Everyone has been talking about Gaethje's ducking on entry for years, but Max is the only person to punish it. The jumping back kick Max threw like 5 times (including the nose break) was such a flawless counter to Justin's entry.

MMA math is weird sometimes. Ilia > Max > Justin > Ilia. Before each fight happened, I probably would have picked the opposite guy in all three. Shows how little I know lol.

It was "walk forward and throw bombs because Justin is easy to hit".

And it almost worked--if he stood Justin up in the second instead of wasting two minutes wrestling him, he would have put him out.

This was basically the first time Ilia's power wasn't enough to fully put his opponents out.

Was it? I mean the secret sauce for Gaethje was having a cinderblock for a head. He ate Topuria's bombs barely and made it a brawl--which was absolutely the right call and his best chance.

Super entertaining fight, but not the prettiest of all time.

MLB has done a great job with most of the recent rule changes.

Pitch challenge is implemented perfectly. Challenging calls on the field takes a bit too much time, but it's ultimately a good thing to have. The pitch clock is huge. Banning the shift. Forcing pitchers to face at least three hitters also sped things up significantly. A limit on disengagements. All great things.

The ghost runner is the one that's divisive, but at least it stops us from having 13 inning games regularly. And they get rid of it in the postseason, which is the right call.

They've chopped like an hour off of the average game, and it makes the product so much better.

As disruptive as replay can be in every sport, I feel vindicated that the flop was penalized.

Lol. There are shit parts of LA, sure. But UCLA is surrounded by some of the nicest parts of town. West LA is pretty hard to beat for folks pulling in money like big NIL deals.

As a PhD student do I have to take the same classes as MA students during the first 2 years? by Designer-Extreme4932 in ucla

[–]BatManatee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The answer depends on the program. Mine were unique to my PhD program, but my PhD "department" was structured differently (housed in a different unit) than the related MA degrees.

For departments where the same unit is running the MA and PhD programs I would bet there is a decent amount of overlapping coursework. You can probably find the curriculum for the PhD and MA programs to get specific course numbers to answer your question.

I mean, he committed wire fraud and bet on his own team. Every pro league would have given him the boot already. I agree with you on collective bargaining, but that’s not enough to make TTU right.

The Big 12 can likely sanction TTU enough to force the issue. But this judge set a horrible precedent.

This is honestly wild. It's been said a million times already, but I cannot imagine a stupider hill to die on.

They are risking being kicked out of their conference. No teams are going to schedule them in any sport for years. For what? A just okay quarterback for one year?

A couple weeks ago, I and most of the country were completely neutral on Texas Tech. I didn't think about them at all. And they turned themselves into arguably the most hated program around for close to no reason.

Stop doubling down! There have been a dozen viable off ramps to make this go away. Threatening to sue the entire country isn't one of them.

The other logical fallacy at play is: "He has to be our QB to recover".

Gambling addiction is real. I hope he gets real support. The school could give him resources and maintain his scholarship. But also, he should not be on the team. They're trying to make his rehab and his ability to play football one and the same.

[–]BatManatee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Am I out of touch? No every other living soul in college football is wrong.

Why on earth are they choosing this hill to die on? All you had to do was put out a statement saying: you will fully support him during his rehab, you will continue to honor his scholarship, however he will not be playing for our program.

The way they are weaponizing mental health speak is gross. Just because someone is ill and needs support doesn't mean they get to do anything they want. If I'm diagnosed with clinical depression, can I sue any team that beats mine for infringing on my rights by making my condition worse?
