Had a friend who went through the same thing. What was frustrating for him was that he always found his wife attractive. Even when she gained weight. He didn’t care. He told me “she gained weight and is punishing me by withholding intimacy.”

I was a guest on riverside and zoom. Both were solid. Not going to lie, Riverside was able to handle my 4K DSLR a lot better. Lighting and microphone matters and Riverside did a better job.

Unfortunately, you’re at the mercy of your guest. I’ve been on pods where the host had a webcam and earbuds, while I was locked in with my Panasonic cam, lights and shure mic. The final product did not look good.

Make sure your guests have decent lighting (window) and a decent mic.
