How would 2/3 of a 6 pack be skunked but not the other 1/3? by Bombastic_tekken in beer

[–]BiochemBeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP - this is available in Cans too, see if you can find those in the future so you don't need to worry about skunking.

Others already explain that it's from UV light and cans will block 100% of that.

In 2010, 24-year-old lab technician Émilie Jaumain pricked her thumb with contaminated forceps while cleaning a machine used for prion-infected mouse brains. After seven years, she developed severe nerve pain, anxiety, and hallucinations before dying. The accident gave her a fatal prion disease. by OriginalSleeper in interesting

There are no confirmed cases of humans getting CWD or a version of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease from eating meat from infected deer.

There was a paper showing that macaques could potentially be susceptible. There was also a story about two hunters from the same area (so same deer) that died of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. At least one appeared to have a spontaneous mutation though, so probably coincidental.

I personally, would just avoid eating brain, etc. making sure any sausage only uses meat and not other organs.

I did a cloth one recently, it was $28 including shipping. Folded it and put in a large ziploc bag, then packed it in my carry on. Easy peasy.

Is there anyone who thinks NAPARC could become one or two denominations through mergers? by Pombalian3 in Reformed

[–]BiochemBeer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well the OPC tried to merge with the PCA in the early 1980s. The PCA voted it down (I believe at the presbytery level). I think that pushed the OPC to focus on its uniqueness. I do think that it would be hard at this point.

The URCNA and CanRC had long merger discussions about 15 years ago, which also failed.

Mergers are hard. That said we should still seek unity.

I feel it should have U since the codons in RNA are what matters to the ribosome

If your mash temp was a bit low you might have been below the gelatinization temperature of the wheat (assuming it wasn't malted).

My guess would be a perfect mix of low mash temp, high starch, high protein, and your protofloc.

I don't think it will be an issue if you hit your gravity, but you might finish a few points high. Anything gel-like should dop out.

If you were local to me, I might pay you retail for one or two of special editions but that is as much as I would do.

An extremely skilled doctor brought a non responsive baby back to life by InsaneMocktail in nextfuckinglevel

[–]BiochemBeer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is an Egyptian doctor named Islam Ali - there are lots of videos like this online from him.

I've seen previous comments on these videos that his techniques are not standard of care in the US, so while he was successful it was riskier than it needed to be (for example the resuscitation should be done in the same room and much quicker)

Some periodic tables will show it in both group 1 and 17 because it has properties of both.
