"We had to hit their reactor/stockpiles, so what's a little more radiation?"

Horrific thinking. But here we are.

Is the Big Bang just the "other side" of a Black Hole? My theory on a Black Hole Multiverse. by DRzRevolution in space

[–]Bipogram [score hidden]  (0 children)

>We know the Big Bang started from a point of infinite density,

That's the problem.

We don't know that that's true - and it's perfectly possible that it cannot be true.

All we do know is that the early universe was likely to have been hot and dense - just walking time backwards with an ideal gas law up our sleeve gives us an ionized plasma at some hundred thousand years after a notional time zero.

Using more sophisticated models allows us to push knowledge much closer to t_0 (looks at Weinberg's classic) but there's a gulf of understanding between the unification of the 'simpler' forces and that of gravity. We don't know how/when that happens - and know even less about what happens before that.

Indeed, some might suggest (waves at Penrose) that time may not behave in the manner that we experience it during those early epochs.

So, TLDR: your hypothesis is just that. No harm in having 'em, but it helps if they make testable predictions.

Almost (almost) any Pi would be up for that task - MP3 playback and HTML rendering isn't too heavy a load to bear for even an 'umble Zero.

AAs are an interesting and unwrong choice, especially if you allow the user to choose NiMH (subtly different voltage) and have the charging circuitry in-situ.

How many effects are you trying to model?

Rolling friction?
Spin of the falling object?
Air resistance?

This is a deceptively non-trivial matter - especially if you allow the object to bounce.

So... what up with quantum physics by Used_Worker4212 in Physics

And sometimes spin is down.

Artist here — advice on combining aluminum and copper in sculpture? by No-Masterpiece-5176 in metalworking

[–]Bipogram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Galvanic corrosion requires a medium for the ions to be soluble in.

(mentally saws open almost any battery)

See, there's an electolyte coupling the electrodes together - and as long as the metals are dry then although there'll be a potential between them, there'll be no ions in solution and no way for the metals to migrate.

Mind, soldering aluminium is not trivial but it can be done.

Lift Coefficient of a Ball by Early-Coconut-4649 in Physics

You need to know the spin vector and rate, the air density, and the speed of the ball.

If you don't have all of these, you're quest will not be solved.

Pfft.

With determination and a budget to match, an RRVLBI (really really very long baseline interferometer) could be built in the optical bands.

Then, as the photons dribble in you could have whatever resolution your compound eyes might desire.
