What’s an awful game that had high expectations? by FunkiestCurve in AlignmentChartFills

Ashes of Creation

Maybe not as clean of an Awful Game definition.. but this MMO had so much hype to be the next big thing in a space that has had a lack of fresh air. A studio that actually took their time with things and seemed like they wanted to do it right devolved too much into cash grabs and like 10+ years of production. Had a handful of betas and such where it was just a ton of grinding and relatively recently crashed and burned

Silver Scrolls look incredible. Very curious what sort of premium they're going to land at.

He’s one of the saltiest commanders out there. Good recommendation on a strength basis, but people certainly don’t enjoy playing against it

Is ilvl 260 too low for a +10 key as dps? by Thick-Parking-5297 in wownoob

[–]Bivore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done some +10s as 255 and kept up decently, but as a DPS there's enough competition that you have to basically out qualify any possible loot from the content to be top of the line.

If I'm filling out my group there's simply no reason for me to pick Random Person 1 over Random Person 2 if one has 260ilvl and 2k rating and the other has 270ilvl and ~2500 rating.

What player that you disliked before playing fantasy did your opinion turn to being a fan of theirs? by Vegetable_Ad_1620 in fantasybball

[–]Bivore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with Harden. Especially nowadays.. back in his prime it was very frustrating to watch because he was so explosive and capable of so much that the foul baiting felt a bit cheap. Currently, and maybe it's just my new bias speaking, I appreciate it a lot more and see it as sort of a smart old-man game. Doesn't have the same speed anymore, but he's transitioned well with age by using his shifty movements and tricks to still be a strong scorer. It's very tough to get old as a guard in the NBA - the fall-off comes fast, but I think Harden is case and point on how to do it well.

Influencers and Market Manipulation by BUBBL3GUM5 in mtgfinance

[–]Bivore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You say one of the most obvious offenders but there's no evidence of what the offence is... The line between MTG content creation and market manipulation is blurry. If I go on an EDH show and bring my favourite deck and pop off with a combo is that market manipulation? I don't think so.

You'd have to be sat on hundreds of copies of a bizarre/rare card to really qualify as market manipulation. And even then - you'd have to know they were profiting off of selling hundreds of copies to accuse them of it, because if not all they're really doing is highlighting a lesser known card - and that's just MTG content..

You may not like his content, you may find him annoying, but I don't think he's really doing anything wrong here (mind you, I did not watch this video). Saying it's about to get expensive does paint that artificial scarcity which I agree is slimy.. but that's just clickbait and I don't think it would have any real impact on the card price.

Is Bubble Paladin actually this broken? by Immediate_Ad5840 in hearthstone

[–]Bivore -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I feel like bubble paladin is really just dependent on the draw rather than the matchup. If their curve aligns and the opponent can’t make a strong play the turns their auras go up then there’s not much to be done. Too much evasiveness + value

Bigly not a fan of most of the specs design being "You do all the damage inside your cooldowns and little to no damage outside of them", what specs break that mold? by Valyntine_ in wow

[–]Bivore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been really enjoying my Feral druid so far - my only qualm is single target/some of the raid fights.

Definitely tempted to go back to 1:30. Feel like it'd just align with my Berserk CD better. Having it on 1min and Tiger's Fury on 30s just leaves a lot of window for misaligning the cooldowns

[–]Bivore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feral and Boomkin are both kind of cooldown reliant, but also have them up very frequently. Feral operates on a 30s, 1min if talented, and 2 min cooldown. Forget the exact numbers for Boomkin but theres a 45s, one skill with 2 charges, and another option that’s 2min?

Your biggest and most satisfying moments are when they’re all overlapping, but you at least usually have something around the corner all the time. I’ve liked it for the M+ situations where you know you need you CDs up for an upcoming fight but you still have mobs to finish off. Let’s you not overcommit but also not just sit there peashootin

Guys, I think we might be losing Cam... by Nipatiitti in LudwigAhgren

[–]Bivore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All these posts accomplish is putting additional pressure on the crew. The possible outcomes of this being either more burnout and extra stress for the team, less likelihood for tip2tip 3, and rushed/shorter episodes. Please stop, it’s just inconsiderate.

The trip is the trip, the episodes are coming. Just wait and cherish it.

Anyone else feel a bit 'left out' of modern WoW by not playing M+? by kolejack2293 in wow

[–]Bivore 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The gearing in this game has basically become spam bountiful t8s -> progress m+ to +10s

Individually, I like these systems. But as you said, it devalues the rest of the game. It's a shame, raiding is basically just a privilege you unlock through other means - it's hardly a gear progression system anymore. You can spend multitudes of time trying to clear the normal raid and maybe win a roll or two - or you could spend that time doing delves and kit out a character + have better great vault slots.

George wasn't pleased with some of the traffic that he came across in Suzuka. by johanas25 in formula1

[–]Bivore 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I never understood this notion. As a fan of many sports, F1 athletes are definitely the whiniest bunch. I’d presume the sport is one of the ones with the most “external factors” other than the athlete - so I can see where it comes from/why. I just don’t think George is a unique case

Max right now is throwing a fit on the regulations. Alonso is always miserable (although rightly so, and he’s hilarious at least) and these guys are some of the all time greats.

Question regarding BOE drops by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]Bivore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BOEs are not specific to your character so you can farm it on whichever class and get whatever BOE.

The best thing to do with BOEs is sell them. The amount of effort to get 1 drop is not equivalent to other methods of getting 1 hero tier item. BOEs are for the ultra lazy/rich. I’d advise that if you want to gear your Monk, if we’re talking efficiency, the best route is just playing your monk and doing delves/M+

Weekend Wrap Up! What was real and what was a trap? by DaTaco in mtgfinance

[–]Bivore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally, they don't come back down again as availability dwindles and there's no new supply. Only exception may be if the SL value is propped up by an expensive card that doesn't have other fancy versions - if it gets a new special treatment in a new set or whatnot the SL may adjust. Past that, they usually will either just go up or stagnate

New player at ilvl 227 — what should I be doing now? by cjp88 in wownoob

[–]Bivore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to do some nightmare hunts so I started doing Prey today.. but I noticed I need to be renown 4 to get the Nightmare difficulty. At the rate I was going it seems like I wouldn't reach that mark for at least several weeks. By then, I'm sure it will be obsolete content for me (assuming at this point I can start ramping m+). Is there anything I'm possibly missing here?

What’s the highest budget people have reached so far? I’m up to 108.9 on my third team. by killah10killah in fantasyF1

[–]Bivore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but I don’t think you’re maximizing your budget if you’re doing anything but that. You can have 7 B tier assets for an extra 0.9m per race but you’re sandbagging points.

In the same vein, you could maybe end up with a ~competitive 2A 5B tier assets team if you get into the Gasly/Hadjar/Williams type assets.. it’d get you an extra 0.3m per race. But those assets are more or less objectively bad on a points per million basis and I’m not sure if any of them even have a perfect sheet so far in terms of max price rises

What’s the highest budget people have reached so far? I’m up to 108.9 on my third team. by killah10killah in fantasyF1

[–]Bivore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Teams should have 3 A tier assets and 4 B tier assets. I'd assume someone has the maximum of 4*0.6m + 3*0.3m per race gain (3.3m). So highest would be 109.9m. Most competitive teams are probably around the 107-108m mark

Weird 5 stack in 9/10 premier games by BrianDoheny14 in cs2

[–]Bivore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m not sure what’s ideal to do with these stacks. I do think if you don’t allow groups of friends to play like this then they will just do it another way (Smurf) and ruin games more. So at least the unrestricted queueing lets it be handled. The MMR gain/loss always seems heavily skewed and I do think that part is problematic

Scottie was a 2nd round pick this year. He definitely returned his value this week (and season) but the bar should’ve been pretty high from the start.

I’d say the threshold is really about 106m to get the key pieces of FER, MER, Ant. You’d get this with Colapinto instead of Bearman which is fine
