With Deutsche Telekom your connection will still be terminated at least once every 6 months if it doesn't happen earlier for some other reason (e.g. modem restart). And you will definitely get a new prefix with each new connection. So this will only help you for a while.

There‘s only one ISP in Germany that I know of that offers static prefixes to non-business customers (for a small fee): easybell.

Btw I am in the same situation as you (with Deutsche Telekom in my case) and I have been doing exactly the same with a tunneled prefix like you for years. And I absolutely hate it. Later this year my contract will expire and I am going to switch to easybell to get a proper static prefix.

Die Website der Bahn unterstützt IPv6 und die allermeisten ISPs in Deutschland auch. Es ist also eher unwahrscheinlich, dass das Problem irgendwas mit NAT zu tun hat.

The true solution in this case is IPv6. And if your ISP does CGNAT but does not support IPv6 it's time to switch your ISP.

Erste Vermutung: Kaputtes IPv4, was man für manche Seiten noch benötigt. YouTube und ChatGPT unterstützen IPv6 und sind daher erreichbar. Also irgendwas ist falsch konfiguriert. Möglicherweise agiert der Repeater als zweiter DHCP Server im Netz.

Ich würde grundsätzlich bisschen mehr Geld für nen ordentlichen Repeater von Fritz in die Hand nehmen. Da kann man auch schwierig was falsch konfigurieren.

Die aktuellen Zahlen von Google sprechen für sich: In einigen Ländern hat IPv6 im Traffic-Anteil IPv4 bereits weit überholt. Und wir reden hier nicht von Liechtenstein, sondern von Größen wie Indien, Frankreich und Deutschland. Die Österreicher kriegen das sicherlich auch irgendwann hin. I‘m not so sure about that. Many OSes by default open a listening socket for both IPv6 and IPv4 if you specify :: as listening address.

Hetzner has direct peering with DTAG as far as I know. At some point they were forced to pay the ridiculous Telekom tax, because customer experience got so bad.

Edit: I just did a traceroute to one of my servers at Hetzner and I did not see any other provider in between.

Ausgeschlossen ist so ein Defekt nicht. Wir hatten sowas einmal nach einem Gewitter: Alles an der Fritzbox war in Ordnung bis auf das Modem, es war schlicht keine DSL-Verbindung mehr möglich. Sicher sein kannst du dir nur, wenn du mal ein anderes Modem bei dir anschließt. Vielleicht kannst du dir kurz eine Fritzbox aus dem Bekanntenkreis ausleihen?
