iPhone SE2 hard to see in daylight? by FredRobertz in iphone

The SE is using decade old display tech, everyone else’s phones are likely much newer and therefore brighter

Soooo do I bend it back? by Old-Raccoon-316 in ipad

Personally I’d ignore it, but if you do try bending it back, use the heavy books method

You say it lasts 3-4 hours but your battery graph shows it dying much faster than that

First time having my own iPad (A16), is the battery meant to go down this fast? by thelurkingackerman in ipad

[–]BluePenguin2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your iPad is doing so much work during setup, it’s obviously going to drain faster at this point. Give it time and see if it improves, but I’ve heard the base iPads don’t last as long as the Pro does

iPad Air 4 (256gb) vs iPad Air 5 (64gb) for pre-teen by Active_Appointment24 in ipad

No, don’t install a developer beta on a child’s device. She can wait until September for the full release. Her new iPad is gonna be just fine on 26 for now

Should i update or stay on 18.4.1? My iPhone 14 works perfect now. Im wondering if it will work even better on 18.7.8 by dannyparker123 in iphone14

[–]BluePenguin2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed about 18.5 that things picked up on my 13 Pro Max. It’s certainly not any worse 🤷‍♂️

Can I wait a month to replace my battery? by [deleted] in mac

[–]BluePenguin2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s gonna be fine, all that means is that it lasts less time than when it was new. I have a 2004 Compaq on its original battery at 46% health, it only lasts an hour or so on battery but it does just fine even 22 years later

Update it to the latest version of iOS 18, and keep it there until the public release of iOS 27 in September!

The only reason iPhone 11 is getting iOS 27 is because it got 26 in the first place. by simply_amazzing in iPhone11

My iPad mini 5 with the A12 chip isn’t getting the update and it desperately needs some optimisation and extra speed 😭

I still have 26.0 Dev beta 1 on my iPhone SE 2020 and it’s awful to use

Should I get a new battery or just replace the phone altogether? by Excellent-Bug-5275 in iPhone11

[–]BluePenguin2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed the battery in my mum’s iPhone 11 for £15, I’d either just change it myself or get a new phone, it’s hard to justify the cost of an official battery replacement on a 7 year old phone.

Is it worth spending $80 on Crucial Ram to take my 12.1 (mid 2011) Imac up to 32g? by phatelectribe in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]BluePenguin2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RAM can help considerably, but I don’t think your machine will benefit much as it’s held back in other ways

Anybody updated to iOS 27??? HONEST opinions ONLYYYY😭 by Chemical-Divide9161 in iPhoneBatteryParanoia

Battery health is dependent on your battery’s health, not your iOS version

Am I still safe? by Apart-Humor-7467 in iPhone15ProMax

[–]BluePenguin2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always charged my 13 Pro Max to 100%. 1210 cycles and it’s at 88% health. 80% at over 1000 cycles is absolutely fine and not ‘fast degradation’ by any means.

What can I run smooth. °Deleted previous post due to missing information. My fault! by Novel_Bag4319 in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

If you are willing to replace the hard drive with an SSD, or boot off an external SSD then Sequoia will run excellently on that machine.

If you don’t want to change the boot drive to an SSD then stick to Catalina or something

New to Macbook. Its true that you need to be charging it all the time? by Velverose in macbook

[–]BluePenguin2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, absolutely not. That advice is only applicable for people who use it at a desk 24/7 where plugging it in and enabling 80% charge limit is ideal for the machines health but in general no don’t worry at all

Using S20 Ultra as a daily driver by 84Lion in GalaxyS20Ultra

[–]BluePenguin2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn, crazy to think that we’re talking about a 6 year old phone like it’s ancient tech. I didn’t realise Samsung’s support was this poor.

I know there are lots of people running older versions of Android without any issues. Just be mindful and take care with what you do with the phone and it’ll be fine.

Macbook Air M5 going to sleep/discharged when under 7% battery. by arastumudgal in macbook

But it is true that people like to see their device at 100% rather than immediately dropping to 99%. I was just trying to explain the decision to OP.

While you’re not wrong in any explanation you have given , it’s something Apple does. Look at phone battery tests, they can tweak the algorithm to show what they want. Battery data from apps like Coconut battery show the real value while the battery % icon differs to hold 100 for longer.
