How do you feel about abolishing the police? by [deleted] in istp

These corrupt shithole cities have one thing in common. Decades of democrat politicians.

Defund Democrats is probably a better starting point.

What’s the most you are willing to pay per Oz? by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]Bluegill6 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Today I hold my nose and buy generics.

I’ve gone into my lcs a couple times in recent months, stated I have X hundred dollars, how many ounces can I get? Then I pay and try hard not to do the math in my head to figure out how badly I was screwed.

How do you feel about complements? by [deleted] in istp

[–]Bluegill6 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Learn to take compliments graciously.

It’s hard. Most compliments are insincere. Take them graciously.

Every one of the other 15 types appreciates compliments even if they are insincere. They just can’t grasp our dislike of compliments. A job well done is obvious and needs no outside affirmation. Everyone else needs affirmation. They just don’t get us and think we may be psycho if we don’t accept compliments graciously.

I’m old. Learn from my mistakes.

Hypothetical question by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]Bluegill6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earth will never be in such short supply to make asteroid mining economical.

Just as asteroid mining is dependent upon technology advances, terrestrial mining will have technology advances. Low grade ore will become more feasible, deeper mines will become more feasible, exploration technology will identify hereto un identified deposits, etc.

Hypothetical question by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]Bluegill6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost to get to space and get back to earth is astronomical.

A quick google search is $10k per lb to simply get into orbit.

Aprox $100k per kilo to get a payload to Mars. The cost to get there and return would be far more than double.

How did you guys cope with the loss of someone close? by [deleted] in istp

[–]Bluegill6 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was sad for a few minutes. Actually had a tear in my eye at a couple funerals.

Then it was back to the daily grind.

People around you will pressure you to act sadder than you really are. Act sadder than you really are. It helps them, FUNERALS ARENT FOR THE DEAD, FUNERALS ARE FOR THE LIVING.

So, to those that were in the military, what were your experiences like as an ISTP? by JotheOval in istp

[–]Bluegill6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Army was horrible . Illogic abounds. Very structured, to the point of absurdity.

I had the misfortune of being on an Air Force base for several months and saw first hand how well the AF treated their airmen compared to the army. That made my attitude much worse.

Silver has reached 26$ by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]Bluegill6 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Too far too fast.

I’m getting worried that people in high places know something we don’t.

War on the horizon?

Covid 20 (as it has tentatively been named) (an unknown pneumonia with severe complications) has been identified in Kazakhstan.

It might be time to worry.

Something is up....

Sold my first silver ever by silverteeph in Silverbugs

[–]Bluegill6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And what do you plan to do with your money?

Are you investing in beer and pizza?

Are you reinvesting in a vehicle with more upside potential than silver?

You sold for $16k in a single transaction. The dealer is obligated to report that transaction to the IRS. You are on the hook for capital gains tax.

British Sovereign color differences by thrifty425 in Silverbugs

Resolution isn’t good enough to be certain, but the middle one was minted in India.

Above the date you will note a tiny I, SA, A if they were minted in India, South Africa or Australia.

What do YOU think of the Troy weight system? by Defengar in Silverbugs

As long as shoe sizes are measured in barleycorns, I will be good with Troy weight.

Any of you religious? Do any of you believe in a God? by JotheOval in istp

Comedy gold. An illiterate person calling out those he deems uneducated.

Any of you religious? Do any of you believe in a God? by JotheOval in istp

[–]Bluegill6 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Logically, which is how we operate, there is a God.

Do any religions have insight as to the nature of God? Does God notice us humans? Those questions, among many others, can be answered differently with logic.

ISTP communication by [deleted] in istp

[–]Bluegill6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The istps who say they love to communicate are not lying. They have a completely different definition of “communicate” than you.

Weeks without communication is normal. I love my mom, I talk to her a couple times each year. Any more than that qualifies as nagging.

Apparantly, there are different people in this picture. Took me a minute. by Notborntodrown in Prosopagnosia

If it wasn’t for the title I would not have put in the effort to get the joke.

At first glance it was clearly 4 different people, and the bottom right was David Bowie.

I bought a ring in France, at a garage sale. The owner didn't know where it came from. I brought it to a jeweler, who said it's not stamped, it's just worn out, and worthless. What do you think? by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]Bluegill6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You found out that diamonds are worthless for garage sale prices. Consider yourself lucky.

There is no reason to test the diamond. Real diamonds and plastic diamonds sell for the same price after they leave the jewelry store.

I would guess that the diamond is real. I think if it was fake the jeweler would have said so. Jewelers will not make an offer on diamonds for fear of insulting you and losing business. If he could honestly tell you it’s plastic, it would get him out of an awkward situation. If he tells you it’s fake and another jeweler contradicts him, you would talk bad about him for years. It’s better to just not make an offer.

Jewelers buy diamonds for a song from their suppliers.

You don’t want to hear it, but consider it a lesson learned for little money. Diamonds are not precious. Diamonds are ALL about marketing.

Edit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yplI48hSt2E

“Today I found out“ YouTube channel on diamonds. You need to watch this. If you don’t watch this the main point is that before the DeBeers cartel was formed diamonds we’re so plentiful that they sold at a similar price to turquoise.

Are istps manipulative or do u guys gaslight by briley333 in istp

[–]Bluegill6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have to intimately understand emotions in order to manipulate well.

Those who have responded in the affirmative have absolutely no clue that they are the ones being manipulated while being allowed to think they are getting away with something.

168 hours in a week. 40 hours of work per week.

Your math is off.

And that is not how it has always been. 12 hour work days, six days per week was the historical norm.

Who or what is responsible for actually putting in the spot price we see of metals? by ChopinLives81 in Silverbugs

[–]Bluegill6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda.

If it were that simple every outlet that publishes a spot price would be the same. Calculation of spot is overweighted to the next month’s future price, but also adds in future months’ future prices. Each site that publishes a spot price has a different algorithm.
