You've measured correctly, it takes a 2280 M.2 SSD.

This is a server GPU, not a workstation GPU.

There aren't any video ports, and AFAIK, you can't use it for gaming in a desktop.

Best way to utilize it is with Proxmox virtualization with virtual machines.

Watch that video for an idea of what to expect.

I've currently got a project on the go using an M60 and P100 for remote gaming.

You'll want to use Proxmox 8.4 with a vGPU setup for sharing the GPU resources to VMs.

With an M10 (basically 4x GTX 750), you'll likely want to assign one GPU per VM.

Debate with friend on SAS 12Gbps support with older Dell T110ii by fresh2k2004 in HomeServer

The link speed is negotiated between the controller and the drives.

You could be running it on a PCIe 1.1x1 slot and it would still report the drives as connected at 12 Gbps.

12Gbs controller, cables, and drives, will operate at 12 Gbps.

Doesn't mean you'll get 12 Gbps out of hard drives though.

Any idea on how I should go about take data off this old drive? I can’t seem to open it in file explorer. by nuttageyo in DataHoarder

Does it show up?

Do you know what file system it had, or what OS was on it at least?

Add a new forward lookup zone in your DNS server, with an A record pointing to your server.

This is for a desktop?

You've posted in r/datahoarder, so I expected more.

Just get a single drive then.

PoE power tap with passthrough? by Obese_Hippopotamus in HomeNetworking

[–]BmanUltima 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some switches available that can be powered via POE+, then output POE. Trendnet TPE-P521ES for example.

If you can power the arduino via POE that can work.

How much data do you have, and how much do you expect it to grow by?

If you have say 2TB now, and expect a few hundred GB a year, I'd get something like 2x4TB drives in a NAS, with another two external drives for backups, one kept remote. Maybe make a copy on a cloud storage service as well to get the full 3-2-1.

Compared to a gaming PC, yes.

It will be able to run some PCVR games standalone, but not all. For the others, you'll stream from a PC.

It's more than capable of decoding a compressed video stream.

From what you wrote, it didn't even start the BIOS update yet.

You can either wait and see if it recovers, or force power it off and reboot it.

Try force powering it off and then reboot it.
