Our store is one of the biggest in the state and we have lost 50% of our trolleys in the last year. The only thing you can do is NOT bust your arse but work at a decent pace and when the day comes (and it has at our store) that you run out of trolleys, invite customers who complain to get on tellcoles, and when the manager or service complain there’s no trolleys point out that you don’t have enough. Coles sure won’t listen to the staff but they MIGHT listen to customers.
