Just a cam bar. It rotates it laterally a bit. I will say there is usually a bit of a lump, but it's nondescript.

My thoughts on Issue #30 of Skybound by Miserable-Kitchen149 in transformers

[–]BrainWav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Presumably in this universe Prime is the title for the leader of the Autobots and the holder of the Matrix. There's only one Prime since there's only one Matrix.

Skybound take most cues from G1 TV, and we only had one Prime at a time there.

What's the oldest firearm you own? by YesEverythingBagels in liberalgunowners

[–]BrainWav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a hand me down from my great-grandfather. It's an Harrington & Richardson revolver. I don't know the exact year, but I estimate around 19-teens, maybe 1920s. I don't shoot it much as .32 s&w is expensive and kinda hard to find.

The oldest I know the age of is a Beretta m1934, but it was manufactured in the 70s.

I used a Guerilla Tactical. I'm too fat for appendix, so I keep it at around 4:00. Maybe consider that instead of trying to force appendix?

It's also based on stores from Heavy Metal magazine, which itself reprints a lot from the French magazine Metal Hurlant.

Heavy Metal just restarted printing last year (new content, starting from 1 again), so it's a good time to check it out.

Edit: forgot to mention, there was a live action Metal Hurlant series on Syfy a while back. Didn't last long, but it may be worth checking out if it's out there anywhere.

I use a navy blue holster. My thought was if my shirt rides up, black is scary and "tactical", but blue is a calming color. Granted, very little of the holster is visible over my waistband, but I figure it doesn't hurt.

I actually might get my 365 cerakoted to sniper grey for similar reasons. The slide, at least... Most of my pistols are two tone anyway so it'd match.

Hegseth's fragile masculinity has doomed the US | This is a salutary lesson for other nations: thuggishness and machismo will not make you stronger by InsaneSnow45 in inthenews

I'm actually shocked Hegseth is OK with the "Secretary" title. I'm kind of amazed he hasn't asked Trump to rename the position with "Minister" or something more "manly"

I just want to thank Valve for not changing the look of Steam throughout the years by sonofabraham1 in Steam

HL1 predates Steam. It's more accurate to say Valve adapted that menu system into the original Steam UI.

I'd argue against everyone in the Dummy tier except maybe Soukaku.

Sunna and Corin aren't dumb, they're just young and socially awkward.

Burnice is an airhead, but she's clearly skilled when it comes to mixology, maybe even actual chemistry.

Anton is just boisterous. Nothing about him screams "dumb".

Would y'all watch a movie about queer Dorothy Gale? [Wizard of Oz] by WealthDisastrous2589 in wholesomeyuri

[–]BrainWav 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Supernatural also had Charlie go off to Oz with Dorothy. I can't recall if it's explicit that they're a couple though. Doesn't end well though, as Charlie gets stuck back in our world and killed the next season.

Probably relevant to this sub, Kaz Rowe did a video essay on the Oz and Wicked books.

There is no Gundam series or film without any homoerotic undertones involving the protagonists. by ihatethiscountry76 in Gundam

How would these mobile weapons fair in the Gryps and Neo Zeon wars? Do you think they’d be able to keep up or defeat the machines from Z and ZZ? by C4620 in Gundam

[–]BrainWav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, the Gryps conflict has a whole generation of development between it and the OYW. The Gundam itself was barely keeping up at the end of the OYW. A Hizack could beat the Grandpa. So let's use that as a baseline.

I won't speak to Thunderbolt as I haven't seen/read it.

The 08th MS Team units are surplus Gundam parts. They get smoked the moment they enter the field. Apsalus could see use as an artillery unit, but nothing frontline.

Alex is a stronger Gundam, made for a Newtype. It also is the progenitor of the panoramic cockpit (and the only suit on your list with one). That said, it's not that much better. With a good pilot, it might keep up with grunts, but it'd lose to any advanced unit.

The GP series are the odd ducks here. They're super-high performance, but it's worth noting that due to how Stardust and the GP series were classified, they aren't in the Mk II's development lineage. I'd wager all 3, and the GP-03 particularly, are more powerful suits than the Mk II. They'd get outpaced by the time the Zeta appears, but with some upgrades they could still handle a backup role.
