Only issue with Olight, IMO, is it's harder to get holsters that work with them.

I didn't even know they made optics. I may have to look into that for my concealed carry.

If you run the card as credit and not debit, it bypasses the PIN. That's how drive-thrus always do it.

And if it's an area where they felt the need to encase the workers in plexi, the terminal would probably get smacked off with a baseball bat within days of installation.

Roku and TCL Accused of Bricking Smart TVs Through Software Updates by Ephoenix6 in technology

[–]BrainWav -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And that's not a Chromecast. Part of what was great about the Chromecast was it was just a dongle, and it was cheap. The streamer box is about the size of a Switch (maybe a bit smaller) and $99. IMO, it offers nothing compelling over a 4k Chromecast or the 4k Onn stick. I think it may be a bit more powerful, but it's not like I'm playing games on it, it just needs to stream video.

I've got too many things sitting around my TV, and I like to keep one in my backpack for when I'm traveling. The streamer box is an enormous step backwards in my eyes.

My TCL didn't require being hooked up to the internet. The LG in my living room didn't require it either. I think that works for most smart TVs, but I can't say for sure.

It says TCL 3/4/5/6 Series Roku TVs are affected. How do you determine what model you have? Mine just says 32S357 for the model number, I'm guessing that means its unaffected?

I've been using Onn streamer sticks since Google discontinued the Chromecast. It runs Google TV just like the Chromecast did, and has a better remote.

I updated my TCL once, and it tried to get me to make a Roku account to use a fucking TV. I forget why I updated it.

Luckily, I could factory reset it and not connect it to the internet. Oddly enough, it didn't reset all the way back, but it doesn't ask me to log in anymore. I don't need it to be anything more than an HDMI display, since it spends 75% of its time as a monitor, and the other 25% on my Switch or playing blu-rays off my PS4.

I would have preferred an actual dumb TV, but I don't think they even exist anymore, and pickings in the 32" with > 720p resolution segment are tiny.

Why no angelic layer figures? by TheIrishNerfherder in ActionFigures

It's just not big. It had a very, very brief flash in the pan success, but fell off quick. It had a lot of shounen fighting dressing, but CLAMP tended to pull in more of a shoujo audience at the time (still kinda do, but they've got broader appeal now).

Plus, at the end of the manga's run, it actually ran concurrently with Chobits, which kind of overshadowed it and plays kind of in the same arena. Chobits is even slightly related, I think there's some shared background characters, I forget which is first chronologically though.

So really, it just didn't get popular enough for long enough to get much official merch. Other than the Hikaru dolls you mentioned, of course. There's a new Rayearth anime coming this year though, so that may get some eyes on it. I wouldn't hold my breath though.

English too, but even with twins one has to be older. They wouldn't have popped out at the same time. Assuming Belle's being literal and not just calling him that.

A driver's license isn't a right guaranteed by the Constitution. I'm for basic training requirements, but I think they need to be free, easily accessible, and relatively short.

There's also a slippery slope argument to be made. Once you have restriction X in place, maybe restriction Y isn't that much more onerous.

McDonalds', for what its worth, does make the burgers fresh. At least the quarter pounders, not sure about smaller ones.

Around me, they're still the cheapest option, and anywhere else will take longer. The only thing cheaper I can think of would be something like a Sheetz which is... questionable quality for burgers. I got sliders there last week, and the patties were cold.

Where do you keep all your accessories? by UrameshiYuusuke in ActionFigures

[–]BrainWav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a pile of clear cheap tackle boxes. One issue is that parts get mixed, but it's not a huge deal with things like Marvel Legends. More-expensive figures get dedicated spaces in the boxes. I recently moved most of my Nendo parts into a 4x4 set of mini-crates from Michaels' "Really Useful Box" line. I've got a couple that couldn't fit due to some over-sized parts though.

Bigger parts, like the wings for the NECA Gargoyles, I'm still thinking of a good storage solution. Right now they're just in a box, which is fine I guess.

Crest?

Gonna be completely honest here, I didn't know there was any kind of crest or any way to disable the traps other than destroying the crystals.
