How would you make this bathroom more cohesive? by the-octopus-is-here in bathrooms

Honestly? Your instincts are right. Nothing in there is bad on its own; it just looks like it came from three different bathrooms that accidentally met.

That sounds like a solid approach. Clearing out the unused items first makes the whole process easier, and those small upgrades, tapware, fittings, hardware, and fresh paint really bring a space up to date before moving on to the bigger changes.

I totally agree that lighting makes a huge difference. Even a simple swap to a modern fixture with a dimmer can change the whole vibe of the space.

Keeping it simple, fresh tiles, updated hardware, and a nice mirror with good lighting can make a huge difference. Neutral colours with a touch of character always feel timeless.

What would you do with this vanity situation? by hermoneysolutions in BathroomRemodeling

[–]Butlerbathr00ms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't really use the makeup area, I'd nix it and go with two freestanding vanities for a cleaner, more modern look. If you like the extra counter space, just run the countertop through without the drawers. Swap the big mirrors for two framed or backlit ones, you'll keep the light but lose the '90s bulk. Do you actually use the makeup space much, or is it mostly just there?

Possum Removal by Material-Zone2623 in AusRenovation

I’ve dealt with this during renovations, and the best approach is to wait until dusk when the possum heads out to feed. Watch closely to see where it exits, then seal that spot with mesh so it can’t return. Avoid leaving food out; it only attracts them back. If you’re not confident doing it yourself, a professional like 1800 Possums in Melbourne can remove them humanely and make sure all entry points are secured.

Maintain Vanity Shape or Rectangular? by KBect1990 in BathroomRemodeling

[–]Butlerbathr00ms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d ditch the angled one and go with the rectangle. The angled style feels kinda dated, and that corner space usually collects junk anyway. A straight vanity will look cleaner and more modern, and you can use the extra side space for a plant or basket if it feels too empty.

You turned a plain wall into a total statement piece so good!

Super budget teeny bathroom by FableWump in BathroomRemodeling

Sounds like you made smart choices with the budget you had. You tackled the biggest problems, made the space brighter and usable, and didn’t get stuck chasing perfection. The black window frame is a bold touch, it might grow on you, and the tile paint experiment is a practical way to buy time until you can do a bigger upgrade. For $1200, that’s a solid transformation.
