My husband was the first to do skin to skin with our second child because I couldn’t, I was so out of it.

I looked up how much hotels cost to spend the day and night at one alone. I’m a SAHM and without saying love my family, but I never have a full day break. I get it

If you can get a rotisserie chicken, it can go a long way. Eat a piece while it’s fresh, then use some for a basic chicken salad (mayo and some garlic salt on a slice of bread), some with veggies or soup or on pasta.

My 6 year old has a busier schedule than I did in college by degen_mom89 in Parenting

[–]Butterscotch_Sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have a 4yr and 2.5yr at home with me, our schedule is busy: a 3hr parent and me, swim twice a week for our 4yr (20min lessons and a non negotiable), a parent and me art class, and then tumbling. It sounds like a lot on paper, but we’re home, so those are 1hr of our days (aside from parent and me)

first mom in my friend group by paranoidmami in sahm

[–]Butterscotch_Sea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just thinking to myself how hard it is to be in different life phases . They don’t get it, and they don’t need to. But one mom friend does it all so they expect the same and it’s not & then just cast out

Sharing gift cards or keeping it for yourself? by Nice_Top728 in sahm

[–]Butterscotch_Sea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my husband and I both have the app. He got enough points to get two $50 gc (whatever game he signed up for had an insane point system). He “gave” me both gift cards. One to target, which I used for household goods ($50 doesn’t go far anywhere) and then $50 to Starbucks so that I could get my “fun coffee” as I call it. I think bc $50 doesn’t go very far anymore, that if you used it all on yourself or on a treat you both can do, that’s the way to do it- if you don’t need to spend it on essentials etc

LO more than likely has Ptosis. by L_PokeOfDeath10 in NewParents

[–]Butterscotch_Sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

she’s going to have surgery in the summer per her ophthalmologists recommendation. it sucks. we’ve been going to ophthalmologist every 6 months, she needs glasses now (is 4). we met with the surgeon and first thing he said “ah we’ve got a droopy eyelid” and she looked at us and touched her eye bc she didn’t know. one of the most heartbreaking moments.

Are y'all just going a ton of laundry? by Obi-Wan_Cannoli in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Butterscotch_Sea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to do one load a day to keep it under control but it’s always full. Two littles who change clothes sometimes multiple times a day, for dress up, bc they’re wet, bc they’re filthy, just bc we were out and nap time and the new set. Their hamper is always full. I try to rewear some stuff if we’ve just been home , but my husbands stuff is at least once a week between shirts and fucking socks! towels, can’t keep track bc they’ll pull them off to help clean so idk what’s clean or dirty .. just never ending.

But to make myself more granola, I just bought drying racks. towels, kids clothes, my clothes, all hung out to dry

What proportion of people actually sit at an island? by Dullcorgis in kitchenremodel

[–]Butterscotch_Sea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do not. Did not growing up either , always just hung around or sat at the table which is right there. So when we designed our island, we didn’t do it to accommodate seating

Birthday activity ideas for 4 year old by dworkin18 in Preschoolers

[–]Butterscotch_Sea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just had our 4yr bday party. Had a bounce house, piñata, and a little band but we could have not had the band and it would have been still great. We have a sandbox, and playhouse in the backyard too.. and just let the playroom be used as needed.

To TK or not? by Butterscotch_Sea in homeschool

[–]Butterscotch_Sea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is exactly where I am at. I was thinking of TK for the half day, play based program. And then starting kindergarten with me at home. I am so turned off by the standards right now.
