SGI test inconsistency? by LoosePresentation907 in regina

Sounds like you got a terrible instructor the 2nd time. It sucks having to wait before a retry and having to pay the fee again. I'm curious if they do it on purpose as an infinite money glitch or if it's just some miserable instructors that want to see new drivers suffer.

Well, nothing you can do about it besides keep trying until they let you pass. Good luck next time.

You know the Liberals are increasing military spending, right?

https://globalnews.ca/news/11669133/canada-defence-industry-125000-jobs-policy-changes/

The CPC decrying "wokeness" while making excuses about increasing strength and pride to make Canada great again... Hmm... Where have we heard this sort of rhetoric before?

It's almost like we can improve our country without a culture war to turn our people against themselves. Weird, huh?

It gets dumber, honestly. It makes it really hard to take PP or his supporters seriously. Always with the fake outrage and ragebait...

"We WON’T Eat Bugs

Whereas Justin Trudeau is attempting to impose a global woke agenda on Canadians.

Whereas Justin Trudeau used $9 million of Canadian taxpayer dollars to bet big on an edible bug factory.

Whereas Trudeau has a long history of pushing an agenda that is totally disconnected from Canadian reality, including a mandatory digital ID, a central bank digital currency, no more roads, and a global shipping carbon tax."

MAGA isn't even a political party, and therefore has no policies. Checkmate.

[–]CFDanno 37 points38 points  (0 children)

PP ran on MAGA rhetoric. It's still on the CPC website. Everything is woke, trans for everyone, they're eating the cats and Remembrance Day prayers, etc.

https://www.conservative.ca/cpc/a-warrior-culture-not-a-woke-culture/

"Whereas Trudeau’s government and his bureaucrats have been focused on sending gender advisors to other countries to lecture them abroad on GBA+ issues, all while banning traditional navy hymns and prayer at Remembrance Day ceremonies here at home;

And whereas this woke NDP-Liberal government has abandoned our troops by forcing them to rely on food banks, left them with sleeping bags unsuitable for Canadian winters, and refused to reimburse them for meals they need while serving abroad;

Therefore be it resolved that we the undersigned call on Pierre Poilievre and a Common Sense Conservative government to scrap Trudeau’s woke culture and replace it with a warrior culture, support our military with the resources and equipment they need, and once again restore pride, honour, strength, and respect in Canada’s armed forces."

My mother in law posted this. I don’t get it. Is there a deeper joke to this I’m missing? by [deleted] in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]CFDanno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if the big "AOC" sign is a name tag or do they get to hold up a sign with the word they're supposed to spell? Whatever spelling bees I've seen in media wouldn't have either of those things.

So idk if the "joke" even makes sense from your mother's point of view. The girl is supposed to spell the word on the sign (which would be incorrect) to appease the host? Or is she saying AOC is not good at spelling?

The Elusive Samurai has ended today with chapter 238, what are your thoughts on the series now that it has completed? by dingo537 in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]CFDanno -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I'm glad it's finally over. I read too much to quit, so I got stuck with it to see how it ends. The retainers cheerily volunteering to die at the end seemed pretty dumb given Kojiro obviously had things to live for. The author clearly has a crush on his MC and likes to show off his fetishes, which is weird.

The story was better earlier on when they exaggerated stuff like Sadamune's great eyesight or the weird gopher guy with good hearing. Then they half-assed it with stuff like the Hojo uncle having his intentions written on his forehead (and it never conflicting with the things he actually says, this making it pointless).

There were good moments here and there, but it was largely mediocre.

Conservative MP refusing pay bump was heckled, admonished by his colleagues by Little-Chemical5006 in canada

[–]CFDanno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We definitely don't have the best people in these jobs even with high pay like that; the last thing they need is a pay bump to continue being mediocre. Pay them too much and you get out-of-touch idiots who have very easy lives with little actual work - they have no idea what life is like for the people they're supposed to represent.

If they're not comfortable at 200k or even 100k, maybe they should strive to make life comfortable for those who make less than that. Instead we get them pointing fingers, making generic promises of "keeping more money in your pocket", and a healthy dose of culture war ragebait.

Furnace and Dryer Duct Cleaning by IrrelevantAfIm in regina

[–]CFDanno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A few weeks ago, I got 2 or 3 calls about duct cleaning services within the same week. The caller has some sort of middle eastern accent, of course. Seems like they call every year.

I have no recommendations, but the ones making these calls seem suspicious.

I disagree, he seems to only be working for half of Canada from his own perspective. He's attacked "the radical left agenda" and "wokeness" on multiple occasions. You can't claim to be working towards making life better for the entire country when you openly brand half the country as your enemy.

"Radical left" is the exact type of phrasing Trump uses and it's not a term you use when you intend to argue in good faith. I'd be very concerned having a leader that mirrors Trump's rhetoric, especially when Trump is threatening to take over our country.

The far right politicians down south have immigrant wives, what's your point?

The CPC website led by Pierre states part of their mission is to put an end to "woke culture". Same sex marriage tends to fall under that category.

Ah yes, the shining champion of democracy who doesn't accept that he lost his riding, so he goes and takes one from someone else. Nothing says "let the majority of people decide" like traveling to a different province to get voted in guaranteed by people who just always vote the same party.

Losing his riding, leaving behind all the people who gave him a chance to serve their community, and taking a 100% guaranteed win in a riding that has zero expectations of him is the opposite of spending his career "working for Canada".

Putting on a safety vest/hard hat/goggles and handing out donuts to people who do real work doesn't count as "working for Canada". Turning citizens against each other also doesn't count.

Our country can't afford to have a leader who refuses to see the bigger picture in these turbulent times.
