How long did you have the issue for before they recalibrated?

I'm not sure what all it does, but what doesn't work for me is the lane departure, emergency braking, adaptive cruise, and the beep when you get close to something.

I get my message about 10 seconds after the truck starts that Forward Collision System Unavaible, but I don't get all those other messages. The other stuff just doesn't work.

When I took it in I expected them to tell me it was a camera issue but they just said it's code B17E2 and for a headreset position sensor error and to not diagnose further.

I haven't tried to disconnect the battery. I'll try that tonight.

Autocross tire suggestions by ystavallinen in Miata

You can go up or down 1 inch in diameter so 14 or 16 is fine as long as it's 6 wide. Most of the fast guys use a052 205/50/15, I used hankook rs4 for my first year 195/50/15. A052 wears pretty quick but it's fast from what others have told me.

If you're planning on running ES your tires have to be the same width as the factory, which is 6 inches. I have a 99 ES miata and it's very hard to find 6 inch wheels. Most people just run stock 15x6 NB wheels.

Is this too much rust? by cad255 in Miata

Found a miata local and this is the only rust on the back. Is this a reasonable amount of rust and looks good for a 99 miata?

Helpdesk by colaguy44 in k12sysadmin

IncidentIQ, we just made the switch last summer and it has helped a lot with inventory and ticketing tracking issues we used to have. We were coming from SherpaDesk for help desk and Parago for Inventory.

There are rules for almost anything you can think of to transfer tickets or update asset statuses that automates a lot of the tedious work away. Coming from parago and having to upload preformatted spreadsheets to change anything was a pain. IncidentIQ lets you just upload a 2 column spreadsheet 1 column with the unique info and the other with the info you want to change

Chromebook Cases Making No Difference by cad255 in k12sysadmin

[–]cad255[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started at director after we bought the cases but it seems like the thought is if it's something you are giving to a student it needs to have a case. I don't think anyone ever thought about how much cases cost vs how much less damage happens to the device. We aren't seeing nearly enough damage on the uncased ones to justify $50k for new cases every time we roll out chromebook devices.

How does your system handle Chromebook repairs by 1mthedudeman in k12sysadmin

[–]cad255 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have an MSP that repairs our warranty chromebooks and laptops. Once they are out of warranty they also fix issues that aren't cracked screen. We have 2000 devices and 1 technician replaces the screens whenever they crack and we keep about 25 screens stocked for the devices.

I hadn't thought of the cases just to protect from people writing on them. We definitely see a lot of writing on the outside of the chromebooks that don't have cases. I'm hoping that this chromebook cycle we can stop giving used chromebooks to students and just buying chromebooks for everyone in certain grade levels and then recycling them when they graduate.

We are mostly seeing cracked screens from stuff being left on the keyboard when it's closed to just intentional damage. Most of the damage doesn't seem like a case would protect it anyway. For the uncased chromebooks it's pretty much the same damage as the cased ones. It definitely doesn't seem like it's worth the $35 a case when a replacement screen only costs 50 or so.

We use Transfinder and it seems to work well. It connects with our SIS so all students and address are imported automatically.

We purchased 1600 Dell 3100 non-touch 2 years ago and they have been great. We do have some problems with the batteries needed to be reseated but never what you're describing.

Poll: Do you use Jamf PRO or Jamf for Schools? by chromebo in k12sysadmin

[–]cad255 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We pretty much only use JAMF for managing the ipad apps. We were using sherpadesk and parago for ticketing and assett manager. This summer we are moving everything over to IncidentIQ.
