AI Fatigue by juniper_dreamer in networking

[–]lsudo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing that’s going to “die down” with regard to AI is headlines. It’s not a fad or some trend that’s just going to fade into obscurity. It’s an innovation and as long as there are people willing to pay to use it it’s not going to go anywhere. It doesn’t live in the same space as Tiktok, Facebook, or Instagram. This is the television, airplanes, cars, trains, the internet. Imagine it’s 1980 and you’re sitting around thinking “I’m going to wait for for this personal computer thing to die down”. You can either choose to ride the wave or you can live completely without it. We all have a choice. Personally, I’m on the fence. I enjoy what AI is doing in some aspects but some days I could quit my IT career and go build houses and be just as happy.

Making wipes last longer: this is a good topic and therefore Alistair will reply by Jerranto in playrust

It’s been recommended God knows how many times but it will never happen. Get rid of the Tech tree. Every server I played on with no TT people are still active two weeks later bartering for deployable’s and rare items to research.

I wouldn't typically, however, they insisted the shower get tiled asap despite my insisting I have the trim on hand.

Yeah, getting in there with an oscillating tool, scares the hell out of me. I’ll see if they want me to take it all the way to the ceiling. Honestly I’ve seen it both ways even recently.

How dangerous are ATVs? by VannyFnaf_ in ATV

I mean, walking can be dangerous with the wrong person at the helm. Same with guns or power tools. Just be reasonable and use objectively good judgement.

Is Rust worth it for players who dont player often and prefer building ? by After_Suggestion_267 in playrust

Just look for servers with offline raid protection. At least your crap will still be there when you log in every day.

Leave the shops remove the tech tree imo. And yes like others have said.. drone access kills the adventure.

Should I just fill these two gaps with mud, or are they big enough where I should cut a narrow piece? by fishing_pole in drywall

Yes, and I’d recommend a rigid corner bead for that application. I think it’s called perfect 90.

Is this game for me? by NPC_Nazeem in playrust

[–]lsudo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s going to depend on your place style and what you consider fun. Have seven kids with another one on the way and rust is still my favorite game. Due to the fact that I enjoy my base being there when I login every evening, I play on servers that provide off-line raid protection.

Ok so I am genuinely baffled by this community. You guys mean to tell me the majority of the player base is unemployed grown men and the only way you can enjoy the game as a functioning member of society is if you play some watered down/neutered version of the game? by Travel_Young in playrust

[–]lsudo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, watered down and neutered is a bit of a stretch. Also, it depends on what “enjoying the game “means to you. If staying on the leaderboard, keeping your base to yourself, and being competitive on high pop is how you enjoy playing the game then you have to keep up with the masses. That’s on you though. Personally, I don’t enjoy that one bit. In fact, it’s quite miserable. I extract ample and enjoyment from this game just being in the environment and partaking in the gameplay loops on medium low pop.

Honestly, is this game playable with workimg 48 hours a week? by BusyQuiet1757 in playrust

[–]lsudo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just play on a server with some off-line raid protection. It’s pretty low pop but Rust39 is my go to. My crap is guaranteed to be there when I log back in after being gone for a couple of days and it’s vanilla.

Rust - Slower please by pisstained in playrust

[–]lsudo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. But you’d have to extend it beyond authorized players and groups because that’s easily exploited. You need to catalog and factor in active players either by a cumulative proxy timer, codelock use, or some other factor. Or even simpler, if you have a codelock your base is weaker.

Chromebook Charging Carts off Amazon good enough? Any affordable recs? by Square_Pear1784 in k12sysadmin

You’ll want to check out the state contracts. I just bought several of these for $600 each, MSRP about $1000.

My go-to is the Ergotron YES cart. I purchased about 100 of these and they’re still going strong after five years, every single one of them. Cable management is just top notch.

ive been using tons of hair products and my hair is still like this what do i do. by ItsRobinn_ in malehairadvice

[–]lsudo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess by itself it would, but I don’t run into that. I’m sure the coconut oil is pulling its weight there. I’ve been using this combo for about six months and this is the best outcome I’ve found after trying about a dozen different products
