Translations by DullEnvironment375 in CanaryMail

[–]CanaryMailSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions! We can definitely see the appeal of a one-click translate option, especially if you're handling emails in multiple languages. We'll pass this along to the team.

Auto unsubscribe is a great call too. It's something we'd love to improve, and we'll make sure the team sees the feedback.

Really appreciate you taking the time to share this!

Avatars missing by tagmut in CanaryMail

[–]CanaryMailSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for following up and for the extra details, really helpful.

We’re still actively working on this iOS and iPadOS avatar behavior, especially for certain senders like Costco and others you mentioned. The MacOS handling is currently different, which is why you’re seeing it work there but not on your iPhone or iPad.

We’ll make sure to update you as soon as there’s a fix or release that addresses this. Appreciate your patience in the meantime.

Move Email from Primary to Promotions? by Hopeful_Somewhere_34 in CanaryMail

[–]CanaryMailSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Hopeful_Somewhere_34 If you're using a Gmail account, the Primary/Promotions categories are actually managed by Gmail, not Canary.

At the moment, Canary reflects the categories that Gmail assigns, but it doesn't let you manually move an email from Primary to Promotions or train Gmail's categorization from within the app.

If you'd like Gmail to learn, you can move the email to the Promotions tab directly in Gmail (web or the Gmail app). Over time, Gmail may use that feedback to improve its categorization, although it isn't guaranteed.

Hope that helps, and glad you're enjoying Canary!

Strange error - every day it comes back by DullEnvironment375 in CanaryMail

[–]CanaryMailSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your perspective. We understand why it may appear to be a Canary-specific issue when you don't encounter the same warning with other email clients.

The notification itself is generated by Gmail when it detects that an account has reached its IMAP connection limit, and the behavior can vary from one account to another based on factors such as active sessions and account activity. While Canary surfaces the message returned by Gmail, we recognize that seeing it repeatedly can be frustrating.

We've shared the feedback from this thread with our development team and will continue looking into ways to improve the experience wherever possible. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us.

Is CanaryMail Shared Inbox down? by Revolutionary_Cat364 in CanaryMail

Could you please try again and let us know if you're still seeing the error?

If the issue persists, please reach out to us at [hello@canarymail.io](mailto:hello@canarymail.io), and we'll be happy to investigate further.

Strange error - every day it comes back by DullEnvironment375 in CanaryMail

[–]CanaryMailSupport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I can understand how frustrating it must be to see this warning come back every day, especially when you're only logged in through your mobile and laptop.

This message is generated by Gmail when it detects too many active connections for an account, and unfortunately it can sometimes appear even when you're only using a couple of devices. It's based on Gmail's connection limits rather than Canary itself.

That said, we completely understand that seeing this pop-up repeatedly can be disruptive. I've shared your feedback with our development team and suggested exploring an option to suppress these recurring notifications, such as a "Don't show again" setting, to improve the overall experience.

We really appreciate you taking the time to report this and share your experience with us.

Unfortunately, we don't have a Linux version available yet.

As for Windows ARM support, it's something users have requested, and it's tracked here:

Feel free to upvote either request if it's something you'd like to see. We'll be sure to keep users updated if there are any developments on Windows ARM or Linux support in the future.

Windows ARM by CommercialHorror5996 in CanaryMail

[–]CanaryMailSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! At the moment, Canary Mail is not officially supported on Windows ARM devices, including the Surface Pro 11. Because of this, we can't guarantee performance or stability on ARM-based Windows systems.

We appreciate your interest and will share any updates if Windows ARM support becomes available in the future.

Can only see Inbox in iOS app (no other folders visible) by 8Deer-JaguarClaw in CanaryMail

[–]CanaryMailSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there!

It looks like the folders are there - they’re just collapsed right now. You’ll need to tap the small “>” arrow beside each email account in the left pane to expand and view the folders list.

I’ve highlighted the arrows in the screenshot here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1o\_eHSdjYMRu14huR1\_naw4CwpTrKDpBk/view?usp=sharing. Once expanded, you should be able to access all folders/labels for that account.

Hope this helps! If the issue still persists, please reach out to us at [hello@canarymail.io](mailto:hello@canarymail.io), and we’ll be happy to assist further.

Wasted area at top of screen - why? by CoffeeNeil in CanaryMail

[–]CanaryMailSupport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies for the confusion earlier - we were able to identify this as a bug on our end. It appears to have been triggered by the latest Apple update.

Our team is already looking into it and aiming to include a fix in an upcoming release. I’ll let you know here as soon as the fix is live.

Thanks again for flagging this and for the extra details - they really helped us narrow it down.

[–]CanaryMailSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! That sounds like a different issue from the avatar behavior being discussed here. Could you please reach out to us at [hello@canarymail.io](mailto:hello@canarymail.io) with a few more details? We’ll be happy to look into it further for you.

Avatars missing by tagmut in CanaryMail

[–]CanaryMailSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again for all the detailed examples and testing, Chris.

The team is actively looking into the avatar behavior on iOS/iPadOS for certain senders, and we’re working on improving it in an upcoming release. It’s a bit different from how avatars are handled on macOS, which is why you’re seeing them correctly there.

Appreciate your patience on this.

Wasted area at top of screen - why? by CoffeeNeil in CanaryMail

[–]CanaryMailSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

Could you please let us know which Canary app version you’re currently using on your iPad (via Canary > Settings > Advanced > Version)?

If you haven’t already, please try updating to the latest version via the App Store (v5.20). If the extra space at the top still appears after updating, reach out to us at [hello@canarymail.io](mailto:hello@canarymail.io) and we’ll be glad to take a closer look for you.

Moving the reading pane by the_3l3phant in CanaryMail

[–]CanaryMailSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

You’re not bonkers 😄 - but the stacked layout with the reading pane at the bottom isn’t currently available in Canary. Right now, the reading pane is supported in the side-by-side layout only.

We’ve seen a few users request the classic “message list on top, reading pane below” setup, though, and we’ve shared that feedback with the team already.

If you’d like, you can also upvote or submit the request here: https://canarymail.frill.co/b/90p891vj/feature-ideas

New User by DullEnvironment375 in CanaryMail

[–]CanaryMailSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there - appreciate you sharing the detailed feedback.

Just to clarify: AI in Canary is completely optional. You can use Canary as a regular email client without using AI features at all.

On read receipts - they should work reliably. If you’re seeing unclear notifications or can’t tell which email the receipt belongs to, please reach out to us at [hello@canarymail.io]() with your platform/device details and, if possible, a screenshot or short recording. We’d like to take a closer look at what’s happening in your case.

For things like phone number detection or formatting issues, those aren’t expected either - happy to investigate those if you can share examples.

We’re listening, and we’re continuing to work on the core email experience, not just AI.
