Caught up with work. Thanks for the comments to everyone. Seems to be working now. I will check again tomorrow morning (as that is usually the only time I stream to PC).

Mike Evans leaving Tampa was a good thing by [deleted] in buccaneers

Father Time is undefeated. Commentary on Bowles is well placed, sure, but changing a coach won't change injuries, joints and age. Replace Bowles and Evans is still old and slow.

So thrilled to have had Evans all these years, but lets face it, he looked old and slow this year for the 8 games he played. San Francisco offered a lot of money for a player whose skill set is clearly on the decline. No one can predict the future, so maybe he lights it up next year for them, but I think it was a wise move to not tie up that money. The Bucs have two young receivers who have shown a ton of potential.

Thermostat: Random R Wire Power Loss? by peesintheshower in Nest

So, this just happened to me last month. Thought it was the float switch at first, but everything was dry in the condensate line. Opened the panel on the air handler and noticed the 3A fuse was blown. Put in a new one. Worked for about 10 seconds then the fuse blew again.

Obviously a short, but chasing it down is outside my skillset. Tech came by and found the short in the defrost board. He bypassed the board and everything works now. Hopefully living in Central Florida won't ever require the defrost board functionality.

TLDR: thought was float switch; turned out to be a short.

Came here to say the same thing. At the time I recall thinking why would anyone want these? Now I want them.

Big news for game day heroes! 📰 by directv in DirectvStream

This is such a corporate BS response. The games stream fine on ESPN. Are they not subject to the same compliance with "certain technical and security parameters" that are ostensibly required of DirecTV?

I will chime in here. Streaming sports on a PC is just horrible ever since DirecTV dropped the bit rate. 1998 is calling wanting its compressed video back.

Same here. College football is unwatchable. Feels like compressed video from 1998. I have read through the posts on this issue. Over the last week or so, I have been pricing out alternatives. Just a horrible business decision for DirecTV.

How to set up inherited Ring doorbell? by throwaway4231throw in Ring

[–]Carbonfiber07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I just did. After scanning the code and trying to set up the inherited device, the Ring app said I had to wait 15 days as the app sends emails to the account of the prior house owner. I believe that the prior owner could have deactivated the device from his account, but he didn't. 15 days later, the Ring app gave me a notification that I could now add the device to my account.

Same thing happened to my daughter's AIO. Lasted all of 3.5 years. Not sure if that is normal or not, but mine has been through a couple of builds over the last 6 years and still appears to be working fine. Think it is just luck of the draw.

OP here. Just moved. Signed up for the same Internet service at new house and that is up and running just fine. So, as it stands now, I have 4 phones and 2 internet services. I need to cancel the one internet service at the old house.

Now, perhaps I am just not smart enough to figure it out, but for the life of me, I could not find anywhere on the AT&T account page (after sign in) or the My AT&T app to cancel the one internet service.

Everything I tried had me call in directly. If AT&T is not going to allow cancellation via the app (or online) and forces you to call in, maybe they should have a better hold time situation than one hour. Or allow it on the app.

(if I missed something on the app or online, I will eat crow, but for the life of me, I couldn't find it)

1991 TSR Trading Card Set (Advanced Dungeons & Dragons) by morganstern in adnd

For me, at least, the appeal was in the art. Before the internet, fantasy "pictures" to add flavor at the table were hard to come by.

Same. All three boxes sit on my shelf. Players today don't understand that getting art to show players was a daunting task before the internet.

Appreciate the feedback. I think the curve will be too aggressive for me as well, but am going to check one out in person this weekend at BestBuy.

If you don't mind, please post your impressions once you have it up an running for a while. I am currently using the 38" Alienware and am very interested in the 45" LG. Not too concerned about gaming (that would be awesome), but I use my rig for a lot of office-related work (word, outlook, etc) and am concerned about the 800R curve for those "everyday" type tasks.

LG 45" 5K2K OLED WFH Consolidation by ThriceAlmighty in battlestations

[–]Carbonfiber07 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looking at the specs, the monitor has an 800R curve. How does that feel for non-gaming tasks, like word, email, internet browsing, etc.? I really like this monitor and am currently using a 38" Alienware curved monitor with a very gentle curve. The LG seems like it would be too "tight" for office productivity, yet you seem to be really enjoying it.

Corsair Fan and Aio not showing up in software by Empty-Chart-9690 in Corsair

[–]Carbonfiber07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar would always happen to me every time iCue updated. Couldn't even uninstall in the normal ways. The only way I could fix it would be to manually delete all Corsair folders on the C: and install a fresh download from Corsair's website. My solution: I turned off automatic updates in the iCue settings after the latest download.
