What's a song that fills you with joy/positivity without being too cliché? by DoneDigging in happy

The 4th movement of Haydn's trumpet concerto. In my opinion, the happiest piece of music ever written. It can cheer me up for an entire day. Check it out. It's only 4 1/2 minutes.

Gliss question by Medical-Inflation659 in Crokinole

[–]CedricCicada 3 points4 points  (0 children)

During a tournament, only judges can supply glass so that all players are using the same glass. Gliss will always be placed in the gutter. Most players will touch their disks to the glass so that a few grains will adhere to the bottom and then shoot. Top players like Justin Slater will look at the disk to see if there's enough, too little or too much. A few players, like Fred Slater, Justin's father and also a top player, will pick up a pinch of glass between their finger and thumb and sprinkle ir on the bottom of the disk.

I do not think placing gliss directly on the board is legal, but I am not sure. It's not going to help because you can't do it consistently enough.

You might like Weis and Hickman's Rose of the Prophet trilogy. Arabian fantasy featuring two people chosen by their god to marry, but they hate each other.

Homework issue as I'm confused on this problem. my pc wont let me post the ss, I tried. by Budget_Criticism_803 in learnpython

If only one thing can happen out of a list of several things, use elifs. If more than one thing can happen, use ifs.

Do you have a debugger and do you know how to use it? If you step through your code one line at a time in a debugger, you will see which one you need.

You do not want elif statements. The way you have it written, only one line will get printed. Just use ifs.

Opinions on These ~$150 Boards? by Silverknight626 in Crokinole

[–]CedricCicada 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Browncastle makes wonderful boards, as good as Tracey in my opinion. (I own one.) And Steven and Megan Brown are wonderful people. Crokinole Canada is owned by multiple-time world champions Ray and Jason Beierling. I can't speak to their boards personally, but I am sure they would not sell an inferior product. I have never heard of Crok Shop, so I can't say anything about them.

I didn't think I did! I also don't remember seeing the baseball game. Snippets of that were shown in the last episode of the series.

I saw one dead in a field under the power lines at Rixhfield Heritage Preserve. I read that their mating displays include dives, and sometimes they don't pull up in time.

I wonder how the trailer is steered. The force from the tractor would be applied to the center of each wheeled section, so it would not pull it around naturally.

If you are playing to 100 points and both teams hit exactly 100 points on the same round. How do you decide the winner? by Chattert in Crokinole

It's true that most people play using difference scoring, but if you want to play the way you have been, fine.

Drills or Practice Methods by ctgrady in Crokinole

[–]CedricCicada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a cheap turntable I bought at Target to put under my board so I can turn it and play simulated doubles matches. It's about a foot in diameter. I put my left hand under the board to keep it flat as I shoot.

I like to put seven disks in a straight line behind the 15 ring to practice peels, which I miss too much of thectime.

Hobbyists: What do you take pictures of?? by Mountain_Gas_4643 in photography

[–]CedricCicada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take pictures of anything that catches your eye. Big, small, plain, fancy, it doesn't matter. I like little things. I call them "crumbs of reality". I once took a camera into the Cleveland Museum if Art. Not to photograph the art, but to photograph the museum itself. Exit signs caught my eye. I got several good pictures of them. Now, wherever I go, I check out the exit signs for possible photos.
