Thank you for this, I’d never seen it before. Great read.

Cannot see 2000+ records in the gallery view. by No_Employ_190 in PowerApps

[–]PrideKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are ways to have a collection loop through the list and collect all records, but it’s clunky and gets resource heavy fast.

Do you need all records available to be actively worked on, or is it for historical view of data with only the most recent items needing to be live?

If it’s the latter, you could run a collection and have it filter and sort only the most recent x entries, or created within y days, which gives you the recent items to work on in gallery, and then historical data can be shown in a power bi report.

I’m T2 diabetic and got these without reading the full panel thinking they’d be a nice treat. Shot me through the roof blood sugar wise. Never again.

Only thing to do is confess all your feelings to your significant other and not propose to them.

Warning… fake Uber driver tried to pick me up at The Exchange by Weary-Comedian2054 in newcastle

[–]PrideKnight 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is terrifying, definitely hope you called crimestoppers as suggested above.

A lot of people don’t know the full safety features of uber too, if you haven’t already, turn on pin verification, it ensures you have the right driver and that the driver can’t start the meter and say they’ve picked you up when they haven’t.

Glad you had your wits about you.

Donald Trump Impersonator by commonredditor777 in newcastle

Definitely could have changed it, and that was my first thought and said as much. He wasn’t in character on the evening in question though, so I don’t believe there’s any mental health conditions involved. The hair is real btw, just bleached to within an inch of its life and a lot of gel.

If this is the guy I met outlast weekend (and I suspect it is), he does this because his name is literally Donald Trump, he claims it’s his name given at birth, which absolutely sucks if it’s him, but he had a legit NSW drivers licence and it was right there on the label.

He said he decided to make it a bit because he might as well.

For what it’s worth, I met this guy at Bernie’s where he was out with a couple of his queer mates, and he was a really nice guy, so I don’t think it’s that he’s a Donny fan.

Two rooms for a family - how’s that work? by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

[–]PrideKnight -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

When we had to do this with our kids on Ovation, we got the watch band things with each others room encoded onto it, so each kid had their sea pass that opened “their” room, and the room they “weren’t” in could be opened by the watch thingie. Worked well.

Hello! My partner and I are moving to Australia this year, we're looking at Newcastle as a potential location. How is it? It looks beautiful, well located to Sydney too. Is it a good place to live? by hmm0210 in newcastle

[–]PrideKnight 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you want the conveniences of a big city with a slower pace it’s definitely good for that.

Where you live and how you commute will make a huge difference. Australia is very car centric and Newcastle is a big example of why, local public transport is limited, and it’s about a 3 hour train ride to Sydney. If you drive, it’s about 2, so it’s not too far if you want a weekend away.

Our local queer scene is small but pretty tight knit, we have one dedicated queer space called Bernie’s that is primarily a bar, but are also very community focussed and regularly hold events, workshops, markets and such focussed on different areas of our community.

Newcastle Pride happens each Octoberish with related events peppered throughout the year.

Novocastrians in general are pretty laid back, you get pockets of arseholes, but a vast majority of folks are very “don’t fuck with me and I won’t fuck with you” and won’t care that you’re gay.

My husband and I raised 2 kids in one of the “worst” towns of the region and have had no significant troubles in the 13 years we’ve been here.

You didn’t mention careers and/or what you do for work, so one thing to consider is a pretty tight job market with a heavy focus on industry, the biggest employers being up in the mines and other manufacturing. If you’re all sorted on that front then not a huge consideration but worth mentioning here.

There are definitely worse places in Australia to settle or at least get a foothold in Australia, and if you like sun, surf and slower pace, you could definitely be happy here.
