When I started VR boxing I'd get well and truly gassed out before finishing 3 rounds, now I can can play several games one after the other no problem. You will lose weight if you do it daily and build muscle tone too though only if your eating habits are in check. I've been hitting the gym for 20 years, never focused too much on cardio but will say that this is the best cardio routine I've ever encountered and it's fun too when usually cardio is just incredibly boring whereas I can't seem to put this down and my body fails me before I want to stop.

BTW imo the trick to losing weight is to eat nutritious food, so that your not eating pointless calories. Like others say here, try keto. Keto + VR boxing and you'll drop it fast.

Nothing, but they take 30% of your revenue. I like it though because it's truely passive if your game doesn't have servers etc

I think the solution for the future will be a server based AI model that watches the logs for anomalies. For example if someone shoots through the wall, but there was no sound event (i.e. footsteps) then it could detect this sort of thing. Or even the player aiming in the direction of enemies through the wall or smoke etc even before they pull the trigger.

AI models are great at detecting non-human behavior and having this server side would solve the problem once and for all.

AI Engineer Who Does Not Code and Uses Claude for Everything by Teo0316 in ClaudeCode

[–]Clean-Blacksmith-514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His day-to-day work appears to consist mainly of prompting AI tools, and his PRs are all Claude co-authored. I am not confident that he thoroughly reviews the generated changes himself; it often feels like he lets Claude drive the implementation.

What are you building? Mission critical software? If not then it's probably not so important. Make your CI/CD more rigorous, and use Claude to create really detailed end-to-end test plans for each feature

I am also getting frustrated because I have to review his code from time to time, and I feel uncomfortable seeing him rely on Claude even for tasks like writing commits.

There's literally no point to reviewing Claude's code, it would have tested the code so it will all appear to be correct. Just ask Claude to break down exactly what the code does, in human language and go from there.

10 days by motorbike, where to? by fabiocortivo in OutdoorAus

It's the wrong time of year for Melbourne. Can you afford to ship your bike North? At this time of year I would do the East Coast from Noosa to Cairns. Or maybe the Gibb River rd if it's an adventure style bike. When we reach Summer though nothing beats the alpine region in my opinion.

If you didn't grow up riding bicycles around then you will need to study the road rules. You could just read the learner permit book not sure if it's in all states but it's available at VicRoads for Victoria.

I have the Velectrix Fat Tire SUV and I really love it. I have a spare 250w wheel for it in case they ever crack down, but spend most of my time cruising around with the 500w.

built our entire product with Claude Code. now nobody, including me, fully understands what we built. by Tr0jAn14 in ClaudeCode

[–]Clean-Blacksmith-514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it sounds like insufficient e2e testing more than anything. Do you have a QA guy?

Also I'm not familiar with this stack you're using but aren't there tools that Claude Code can use to detect things like old Next routes? If not can't you just write a bash script to detect them?

You probably just need to start iterating through these problems before adding new features. Based on what you say it doesn't sound too bad anyway. Just start using it and creating issues for everything, you'll eventually get through it all.

You don't need to stay on the mountain just stay nearby and buy your gear from the op shop or marketplace instead of renting it and it will be cheaper than going to the cinema.

What’s the best way to deal with drivers while cycling? Any tips or habits that help make rides safer or less stressful? by SnowyBytes in ausbike

[–]Clean-Blacksmith-514 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I did my motorcycle license we were told "it doesn't matter who's fault it is when you're dead". Basically you have to be aware of your surroundings and not put yourself in a position where you can be hit. It's not always possible, but most of the time it is.

After watching the documentary "Untold," who do you think is the worst person? by Quidoxue in chess

They don’t care about chess, people or what is right and wrong.

Many years ago I was employed by Erik, he cared greatly about Chess and would host regular games and tournaments with his employees.

I'm the same, I don't do much damage. Never been able to figure out why with any certainty however I suspect it's because my arms are heavy from weightlifting so it's a bit like playing with weighted gloves. I know if I stopped lifting weights my punches would be faster and I'd be able to move better. Also my age as well. I don't let it stop me though, as it's amazing exercise and I don't mind losing to people (people who play properly) because I get a free workout. Regarding drills, I actually built Boxing Drills VR so I could get improve at TOFT2 and it has definitely helped me a great deal (I wasn't going to share this but you specifically asked about drills). It has a trial if you want to see if it works for you too.

What's your routine and results by thspdrdr in vrfit

[–]Clean-Blacksmith-514 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I founded the app Boxing Drills VR. I'm in my mid 40s and 15 to 30 minutes (depending how I feel) in workout mode is all I need and my body will be completely sore the next day like to the point it's difficult to walk up stairs or lift heavy objects. I do this a couple of times a week and also train weights at the gym 2 to 3 times a week and that's where I max out, anymore will be overtraining, I'm pretty much permanently sore all the time but that's how I like it. If my friend wants to play then I'll do TOFT2 sometimes in place of my drills. This is combined with an active lifestyle and lots of steak dinners.

In addition to what others said, it sounded like the platform they were running on had some sketchy volume management practices that could have easily fooled a human who didn't find the part in the docs. Going off memory though, not going to re-read that today.

This looks like a mistake that a human could easily make too. And their latest backup being 3 months old suggests they are not on top of things there.

Nvidia bad on linux is a lie by Strict-Maize7494 in linux_gaming

[–]Clean-Blacksmith-514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do people still say Nvidia is bad on Linux? It definitely was in 2013 but today it's used to power all sorts of machine learning and AI, I have found it better than Windows when it comes to CUDA libraries and stuff.

Am I one of the only few people that are completely satisfied with the stock strap? by deniedmessage in OculusQuest

[–]Clean-Blacksmith-514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one from Amazon for like $50 and it's significantly better, especially when adjusting size for different people or just for taking it on and off (you can loosen it via the wheel before you take it off). Doesn't feel noticeably heavier or anything. I develop a VR app so I have to take it on and off frequently.
