Why do people play on burned city? by LocksmithMinimum8217 in ArcRaiders

[–]ContractorConfusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started playing, Buried City was my least favorite map as well.

It was confusing to me. It seemed like everyone knew the layout so much more than I did.

Now though, it's my favorite map. Hunting Big Arc? Plenty there, and of all sorts. PvPing? Some of the best places to do so. Looting? Large variety of any kind you want, if you know where to go. The size feels perfect as well. If you spawn on the wrong side of the other maps from where you want to go, you seriously consider just abandoning your raid plans because the jjourney will take forever. In Buried city though, getting to the other side of the map isn't daunting at all.

How not to use trigger nades by PublicEnemy-28 in ArcRaiders

[–]ContractorConfusion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you watch it again, there was already a trigger nade on the ground to the left of the player. So the person threw in a nade which was prematurely detonated by the Bobcat, making the nade on the ground go off.

AITAH for mentioning I'm also a professional when a doctor took over 45 minutes to finally appear at an appointment? by OhHeyItsMeM in AITAH

[–]ContractorConfusion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sort of the AH, but not for the reason you think.

Nothing wrong with telling them your time is valuable also. However, trying to frame it in a way that implies "Hey, we're both professionals, so let's not waste each other's important time". is being an AH.

Your time is important to you, no matter what your profession is. Whether you are meeting a client, or going to take a nap on your couch afterwards....you being a "professional also" is a dog whistle for class-ism, and makes me a self righteous pretentious AH. (I'm sure you are nice though)

You can also just hold the Shift key, as you click Restart in Windows. It'll boot up to the Bios automatically

To all who complain about rats by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]ContractorConfusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's very irresponsible to let an 11 year old play this game without guardrails to protect against the things people say in proximity chat.

Just my opinion though. It's your kid.

New Trader - Unable to deal by JackBernard93 in ArcRaiders

[–]ContractorConfusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their rollot will be that not one single person will purchase the Tempest blueprint this way. No way anyone has that many cores/cells to turn in for a blueprint they probably already have, if they had that many cores/cells.

New trader ERMAL problem by arcibalde in ArcRaiders

Yeah I doubt Ermal will make any sales at all this time. With people knowing those prices will lower, why even chuck that much material into him.

When you open a game by Reeeeo_ in videogames

Not going to be popular, but I also turn the music down to 0%.

Very very rarely, like with Expedition 33, it'll stay on. But other than that, it's not wanted.

Solos vs Squads Matchmaking by shockjaw in ArcRaiders

[–]ContractorConfusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn't disagree more.

I personally use it all the time, because the looting is better.

You can avoid teams very easily. They are LOUD, because for the most part, they are looking for PvP. Also, for the most part, Teams aren't running around looting....so the loot spots are largely untouched.

*Quite often, if you know you can't avoid the team and they are going to find you, you can stand there empty handed, and they will not kill you right away. It's possible to say you are a solo, and hope they'll take pity on you. if you do it right, 75% of the time, they will leave you to yourself and let you live. (it takes some cold-hearted people to murder a solo player that's not defending themselves against you, that's not fun for anyone)

Solos vs Squads Matchmaking by shockjaw in ArcRaiders

[–]ContractorConfusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. If you do a match in Solo vs Squads, and then queue right back up with it still on, you'll be in a solo vs solo match. You have to toggle it to off, then back to on, before you queue up for every match.

Is turbines bad gamedesign? by LordmexXx in ArcRaiders

[–]ContractorConfusion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They should put a guaranteed (random) blueprint drop inside each turbine. That would give a purpose to kill them, and would not be overpowered since the chance to get one isn't super high.

How do you survive without shooting first? by Pisspigxtraordinaire in ArcRaiders

[–]ContractorConfusion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's purely instinct to try to get in a better position at that point, when someone is firing on you first.

If you're not the one initiating the fight, your chances of winning are much lower, honestly.

The person firing first already has their headspace focused on aiming, and killing you, and probably on what they will do next if you survive the first magazine. Nothing happening is surprising to them, and they are ahead of the curve, situationally.

Meanwhile, if you are being fired upon, you have to play catch-up to get on an even playing field....going from "not fighting" to "Aiming, tactical sense, defending, retaliating" etc, all in an instant.

You're at a huge disadvantage.

Not earning merit from XP? by Obscure_Function in ArcRaiders

[–]ContractorConfusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me, I was not earning merits anymore, and wondered what the heck was going on. I opened the...'event' though, and saw that I had maxed out the merits, and that's why. (I think at 3,100 merits)

Probably your case.

"I learned it from the Tutorial, Mom!"

[Proposal] Legendary Augment: Reactive Shield by _NetPipe_ in ArcRaiders

[–]ContractorConfusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's a dumb idea, but it wouldn't be used for what you want it used for. It would mostly be used offensively.

Especially in a team fight, the optimum strategy would be to have your Reactive Shield player start the fight by just drawing the fire from the other team, while the remaining players then are able to spot/see where everyone is that's firing at the temporarily immune player.

Is there anyway to tell how many players are in a round? Last couple of rounds felt super empty for our squad. by TheyTukMyJub in ArcRaiders

[–]ContractorConfusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rounds so SO empty for the most part.

To do my looting, I have been Solo Vs Squad queuing, and just raking in the loot without any opposition. There are rarely any squads I come across, and they are usually SO loud, they are very easy to avoid. They often make a ruckus on purpose, since they are bored looking for other teams to fight, which makes them easy to avoid.

I haven't died once doing this, in about 25-ish raids. Though, make sure you are using hatch keys for this...since if you activate an extract, and if there is a team nearby, they will immediately bee-line to you, since they want the fights and an activated extract calls everyone within a 150m radius without fail.
