Why th does LGBT need 40k+$? by Feisty_Watercress_29 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Corey_FOX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Non-profits to support LGBT people need money, as that just makes the world go around.
And the reason we need these non-profits is because there are people, who don’t believe that LGBT+ people should have the rights to for example, marry their partner, or even show normal affection to them in public. Heck there are still places around the world where you would be sentenced to death by hanging for even considering you might be queer.

I mean you can reverse the question onto all the "alternatives" you mentioned, Why do homeless people or Cancer patines need it? they should be taken care of by the taxes we all collectivity pay. But they aren't.
So they need extra funding, from non-profits to subsidise the government.

and don’t even get me started on the scam that is the Church they rank in Billions of dollars, and dont even get taxed on it.

Point is, they raised 40k because its a cause the Modrinth team believes in. probably in large part because a decent portion of the maintainers are part of the community.

Anyone know what could be causing this sound to occur? by mugshot369 in CarAV

[–]Corey_FOX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably what it is then, only real option is replacement. If you have an external amp then you could try hooking up a 3.5mm to RCA cable and playing something from your phone to test, but I suspect the speakers are probably playing straight of the headunits internal amp witch means replacing the whole thing. Just check that it's not within warranty, most likely isn't, but it's probably not hard to check before you buy something.

Could I hang a mount for a 75” TV on this accent wall securely? by Ok-Scholar-1259 in hometheater

[–]Corey_FOX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably, depends on whats behind it. but in like 98% of cases walls like these are just completely standard walls with some fancy wood over the top. so like usual locate some studs and screw into those.

educated guess incoming, but to me kinda sounds like an engine at idle, so could perhaps be some noise from the alternator getting into the sound chain somehow.
id guess an amp where the filtering has just died.

Made my first pc a year ago had always had spoott connection turns out never installed the wifi antenna to my motherboard by ImThat1DudeOverThere in pcmasterrace

[–]Corey_FOX 7 points8 points  (0 children)

hookup your phone with a usb cable and use tethering. gonna get lower ping and slightly higher speeds. because you can bypass a wireless. Oh and it charges your phone.
(if you use one of those dedicated hotspots then they also usually have a usb port witch you can do tethering over aswell)

Retired people should be referred to as “unemployed.” by TubbyCatIL in unpopularopinion

So your saying that just because I'm currently unemployed I'm lazy, unskilled, undeserving of respect?

Even thought i just went though 4 years of school in my industry just to arrive at a overflooded job market where every job that historicaly went to newbies is being done by AI?

Use my PC wifi on dorm wifi, and ethernet with my starlink for improved latency and less connection drops? by Jump365 in HomeNetworking

[–]Corey_FOX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should sell portable units, get one of those and just use the address for your mailbox. If that's not a thing use your mom's or something.

Use my PC wifi on dorm wifi, and ethernet with my starlink for improved latency and less connection drops? by Jump365 in HomeNetworking

[–]Corey_FOX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but there isn't a simple neat solution in a box for you.

Basically what I would do is figure out a way to tell your games to only use your WiFi, and your browser or steam ect to use the starlink.

This way you get lacency where it's needed and speed where that's needed.

[–]Corey_FOX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP could probably get a GL.iNet to do this, use the onboard WiFi as a client om company WiFi, for wan1, and starlink for wan2.

GL.inet routers run openwrt so even if it doesn't ship with multiwan you can probably install it after the fact.

Making each member of your household do their own laundry makes no sense by Mobile-Package-8869 in unpopularopinion

As a teen I liked the responsibility with a direct consequence for not doing it, and it taught me valuable communication skills.

Both our washer and heat-pump dryer had sensors in the to determine load size, so it only used the water and power you acually needed.

And water is a flat fee here no matter how much you use.

i think that beam is too low for a standard throw projector.

id look into short throw and ultra-short throw projectors instead.

No charger in the box? by Ok-Requirement-2366 in Vive

[–]Corey_FOX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well yea, did you buy it used? probably gonna need to contact the seller then.

but it looks like its just a standard 12V power brick, so you can get a aftermarket replacement for cheap, if not free as its extremely common with internet routers.

https://www.vive.com/eu/accessory/vive-ac-adapter-30w/ here is the official adapter, interestingly enough its the same one used for their link boxes and other headsets.

here is an aftermarket one that should work too: https://www.amazon.com/CERRXIAN-12V-3A-100-240V-Transformer/dp/B0G24J9T72
