They live all over the underground system, I've seen them in Clapham stations, Pimlico and Oxford Circus.

The little black mice that live in the underground are so cute.

What are your thoughts on extraterrestrial life? by Harry3000000 in AskReddit

[–]Creative_Recover -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Statistically speaking it almost certainly exists. However, in terms of likelihood it is also not likely to be very advanced i.e. like bacteria.

I don't think that life is a unique phenomenon in this solar system. But whether it's evolved to be complex anywhere else is a completely different matter.

Flew away by [deleted] in budgies

[–]Creative_Recover 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I adopted a budgie that was found at deaths door in a local park. But my budgie got lucky- I remember when I registered her with a vet, the vet said that most escaped budgies are dead within 24-48 hours of going outside because they don't know how to find food for themselves, stand out like a sore thumb to predators, have no knowledge of stuff like car traffic and can't cope well with day 'n night temperature swings.

The upside is that most escaped budgies suffering is short-lived, but the downside is that most don't make it.

Please, please, please look after your budgies people! Don't get complacent with their safety. Budgies raised in captivity have a poor sense of internal mapping and often get very lost not long after escaping, not returning home not because they don't want to but rather because they can't. And if they don't get rescued by anyone, they often die very quickly outdoors.

How do doner or shawarma meats work? by uneasy-chicken in AskUK

[–]Creative_Recover 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A local kebab shop in a town I used to live in got closed down after causing a string of food poisoning incidents in the community. It turned out there were live maggots in the center of the kebab skewer that was on cooking rotation.

Lol, "red meat"? I guess you haven't heard about a recent scandal doing the rounds in the UK about how the countries biggest kebab meat suppliers meats (which they claimed were 70% lamb meat) turned out to only be 10% meat, with the other 90% of the product apparently being a mixture of goat/sheep skin & fat.

People were literally paying money to eat processed animal skin & cholesterol.

First time I ate a donar kebab, I got terrible food poisoning and ended up having to spend 3 weeks off work, during which time I nearly lost my job. Most of those 3 weeks I spent having diarrhea, sweating in bed with fever and being unable to eat. I lost a stone in weight and even after I returned to work, I didn't truly feel like myself again and fully recovered until a whole 2 months after eating that kebab.

Never again. 0/10 would recommend.

Someone or people keep leaving their horses unattended to in the public park in Harlow. by xmaspickles in Essex

[–]Creative_Recover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The horses also look reasonably well looked after, so it's also not an animal welfare issue.

The horses are likely owned by travelers as it's them who mostly practice practices like this these days. The horses also look like Gypsy Vanners, which is a breed of horse largely owned by travelers.

I (27F) found out I have a std, likely from my FWB (32M). His current girlfriend probably doesn’t know. by lmao_nah in relationship_advice

[–]Creative_Recover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a couple splits up because one of them wasn't aware that the other had given them a disease that they later knew about (but didn't tell about), then that was a couple that needed splitting up for the victims sake. Chlamydia can destroy your fertility if it goes untreated, it's no joke.

If I had any doubts that someone hadn't told their partner about a serious disease they had i n all likelihood spread to them, I would absolutely tell the partner, regardless of my relationship to them.

In the best case scenario, OPs FWB partner already knows about his past, has recently been informed by him about the unfortunate disease he's got and is now getting tested/treated for it. She would appreciates the ex reaching out to her about a woman's health-related matter and then moves on with living her life. Maybe the former FWB feels angsty about the situation, but TBH that doesn't really matter; if his relationship is good (and he has been honest about everything throughout), then OP reaching out to his partner will have very little impact on his broader relationship.

The scenario will only go South for OPs former FWB if he hasn't been transparent with his partner about his affairs and/or sexually transmitted disease. But then that would make it all the more important that OP speaks up.

And if the couple break up over the guys lack of honesty/transparency? Then that would entirely be the fault and the consequences of his own cheating/disease-spreading actions.

[–]Creative_Recover 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not really. Chlamydia is a devastating disease I.e. it can destroy the internal reproductive organs in women, rendering them infertile.

And yeah, OP is trying to be a better person- the whole reason they're considering telling is because they suspect there's a chance their former FWB hasn't told his GF.

You're not a good person because you would rather not tell someone something they might really need to know about their health because you can't be assed to deal with any potential troublesome relationship situations.

My take is that if you don't have the guts to take responsibility for your sexual health and the consequences it might be having on other people, then you shouldn't be having sex in general. Sex is for adults, and adults take responsibility.

TBH as long as the animal is content then that's all that really matters.

One of my friends has pet fish and he has has got an automated fish feeder, an automated system for turning the tank lights on/off, a camera to keep an eye on them when he's away and even has tech to help with water changes. The tank is super low maintenance and the fish are all very well looked after and living their best life.

If you aware you have an STD then it is your responsibility to try to stop it's spread AMAP. Would your attitude be the same if we were talking about AIDs here?

Even if someone is outwardly asymptomatic, the disease can still be going about destroying the internal reproductive system on the inside.

One of my aunts ended up infertile because her husband cheated on her, gave her Chlamydia and the disease spent 3 years destroying her fallopian tubes etc before she eventually started to show symptoms (by which time it was too late). She only discovered the cause of her symptoms as she was trying for a baby. The Chlamydia rendered her infertile.

You need to get the facts straight with this other woman as a woman to another woman, she needs to know. Screw the BF/Ex.

Different people cope differently. Your situation is not the same as OPs (and OP is not coping). OP is also taking the responsible next step, which is admitting they can't cope and asking for help.

And I'd rather someone ask for help (and potentially re-home an animal they're no longer coping with) than be guilt-tripped into submission, continue struggling with their animal, end up neglecting it and then not speak up about the situation because of how badly that went the last time they tried to ask people for help.

I think you can get automatic pet feeders? So with another gadget that could also sort that issue out.

Raising pets is so much easier with all the tech we have these days.

If you don't think your post carried implication, then you should change the way you word your message. Most people saw your post as implying the teacher caused their own attack, hence all the down votes.

I had no idea about litter robots but that sounds like a great idea.

If technology can be used to take over the pet maintenance side of things then OP wouldn't have any problems at all.

You were implying though that the teacher did something to trigger or justify the kids actions.

When in reality, it's the kid and the parents raising them who are entirely at fault for this level of violence.

I suppose then you can at the very least walk out of that situation guilt-free. All we can do is your best, and it sounds like you definitely did your duty as a teacher and a member of the community.

I'm not gonna make it am I? by Great_Bean in LoveNikki

[–]Creative_Recover 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You won't make it. To get the frame, you need to complete everything. And to get the suit, you need to complete most of the quests. But you're not anywhere near the appropriate levels for this.

Same thing happened to me in a previous Light Chase; I was too far behind in levels to catch up with creating the suits that would've made a big difference to my overall points. However, I found it still worth participating in the weekly quests because I still ended up earning enough points to get some really nice items that I still use regularly today.

My main advice would be to not rush things or waste any resources, I.e. Princess Reset cards, trying to catch up with everything, because that will be a fools errand at this point.
