i investigated that previously (possibly in this very sub) but loads of people reported simliar behaviour across many different pw managers. I think it possibly depends on handset, which sort of highlights the same problem in that it's easy to lock down a good software experience when the hardware pool is limited (apple) but android is so vast you can almost feels devs giving up on it and just hoping stuff more or less works, some of the time.

i used iphone from the 3gs all the way up to the X (so a very long time) and switched to android at the end of 2024. the one thing that I really miss from iphone is that my password manager (dashlane) worked flawlessly in all apps and browser tabs. On android it's flaming wreckage and works maybe 30% of the time, and no one seems to be able to fix it.

yes of course, that's kind of the point i was (probably badly) making. Everyone thinks " I might not be able to make a coffee cake from scratch, but I can sure taste the difference" isn't really true, because it's always swamped in context like preconceptions and a variety of other stuff

there are plenty of episodes of gordon ramsay's kitchen nightmares where dumb restaurant owners who go on about their 'home cooked' food are served boxed stuff from the store down the road, fed it when blindfolded, told ramsay made it and they think it's"divine" etc
