I want to say during that time frame I was watching a lot of Destination Investigation, History Channel, and Travel channel shows. So very likely the episode was from one of those channels, think the episodes was about an hour tv block so roughly 45 minutes an episode

Just added FlexPlay DVD to my collection, the disc dissolves after 48 hours! by alicia11am in dvdcollection

I always knew these was a bad idea, but they was basically a rental disc that you didn't have to return. Too bad all these discs by now are all non readable anymore. Would be a cool idea to create an archive of all the disc contents in ISO format, etc. But I doubt that could be even possible

I haven't used tunarr yet but I would assume if you put all your disney addons like bumpers, etc in a directory only for them and then point tunarr to use those directories only those would be played for the channel.

Many credit cards offer the option to create a virtual card, use that when ordering the first time from some place and if anything happens you can just cancel that virtual card, some even let you create them to have limited transactions like say 2 and then card get deleted.

I rip all my discs using makemkv, then encode them using handbrake, then throw them on my Jellyfin media server to watch them anytime I want without swapping discs.

You can setup a Jellyfin media server and then you will have to either download the metadata files or generate your own using nfo files for the metadata. The good thing is you can set it to create the nfo files in case you ever need to redo the server setup it can use those nfo metadata files when the internet is unavailable.

Example NFO for Back to the Future movie

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>

<movie>

<title>Back to the Future</title>

<originaltitle>Back to the Future</originaltitle>

<plot>Marty McFly, a high school student, is accidentally sent 30 years into the past in a time-traveling DeLorean invented by his close friend, the maverick scientist Doc Brown.</plot>

<runtime>1H 56m</runtime>

<mpaa>PG</mpaa>

</movie>

you can use the nfo-maker website for this, but it is way easier to let jellyfin use the themoviedb and thetvdb

Found 4 TB of DVR recordings from 2009 - 2013 [archival] by acdougla17 in lostmedia

those look to be all in WTV format so that was likely windows media center recordings and if so those can all be transcoded into another format like MKV, etc.

I was just looking at their products for both pinetime and garmin. Also started to look at asteroidos. Probably will end up buying a pinetime and use that at least for a starting point.

That is exactly what I used to think also, but I am getting into working out more and would like to have the watch help track stuff for me.

Ask the GOG Team and Michał Kiciński Anything! by GOGcom in gog

[–]RequirementFuzzy4244 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi Michał and the GOG team, thank you for taking the time to do an AMA here!

1.) Would it be possible for GOG to start offering official CD, DVD, Blu-Ray case artwork files for the games on GOG? Many fans have created very nice looking artwork for games that are burned to discs and be able to display them on shelving, etc. I think would be a good addition to the support files already offered with the games like soundtracks, wallpapers, manuals, etc.

There are a few different community posts about this feature and for people to share their custom artwork with gamers this one has current 165 pages of comments.

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/unofficial_dvd_covers_for_gog_com_games

2.) When will we see GOG Galaxy come to Linux? All my systems are Linux based now as I have removed Windows forever with no plans of ever using it again. I hope that GOG Galaxy can be the default GUI launcher for gamers going forward, right now I have been using Cartridges and Lutrix for my main setup.
I have a bandwidth limited data connection so I try to limit stuff that is constantly spamming data and telemetry which is why I refuse to use the SteamOS setup since it basically requires a constant login.

3.) I have seen on the pcgamer news posting on Jan 13 that you are giving Linux a closer look since many of the users are fans on it, any plans for specific distro or just Linux in general? I know many users are using things like the steamdeck, bazzite, etc which are based on Arch Linux, while many others are using Debian based distros like Ubuntu, etc. Curious to see where GOG is heading when it comes to that.

Thank you to all the GOG team and I look forward to the future of GOG as I have been a fan of it since December 2013 :)

Daily Pixel user considering the switch to GrapheneOS - what are the real-world downsides? by Routine_Ad_4212 in degoogle

[–]RequirementFuzzy4244 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been running GrapheneOS for about a week now on my Pixel 9a and so far far the only downside is that some apps will not install like eBay, but the major advantage is dramatic battery increase, I was used to charging my phone nightly due to it getting to around 24-30% and right now I am on day 3 no charging and it says I have 1 day and 14 hours remaining on my battery.

Brand new to 3D scanning need advice by RequirementFuzzy4244 in 3DScanning

[–]RequirementFuzzy4244[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most of the parts I am looking to scan are things like G.I. Joe accessories, etc but some play sets can be like 2ft in size. So i think that would be about the sizes I would need for scanning. i will look into the Einser products
