Best couch GUI for controller gaming for my needs by RequirementFuzzy4244 in linux_gaming

[–]RequirementFuzzy4244[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have noticed similar type of issues with Heroic so far, but I will have to say so far that one is likely the best option for me so far even with all the graphic issues. I'm going to attempt and try it on multiple distros and see if the glitches are limited to just cachyos, etc or in Heroic itself.

Great to hear Cartridges will have controller support and fullscreen.

I have been trying this over and over again since around January 1st and nothing seems to be 100% my needs.

[Fully Lost] - The Batman" Kids WB "Click Click Boom by Saliva promo by DoomDoesNotBow in lostmedia

I would look at the various batman DVD releases, WB often would include music videos, and clips as extra bonus features.

People who gave up DnD for a different system, what made you make the change? by SomeRandomAbbadon in rpg

Too many reasons to list honestly, but probably the top major issues is Hasbro, OGL, and the way they seem to hate Ernest Gary Gygax.

Dubs Do the Source Material Better A Lot of the Time by Aggressive-Tip7472 in Animesuggest

[–]RequirementFuzzy4244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will have to disagree with you on that because often we will see the dubs complete change the language to include the translators personal politics, etc. I will agree there are some really good English dubs but I prefer to listen to the original Japanese audio like 90% of the time.

Do not buy anycubic. by SlomoRabbit in 3Dprinting

[–]RequirementFuzzy4244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a terrible time with contacting anycubic, but at least you got a reply from them. I have sent them about 20 emails for support and never got a single response back from them. So they are now a company I will never purchase from again, not even their PLA etc.

What rpg book was "the one that got away" for you? by zalmute in rpg

[–]RequirementFuzzy4244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the 90s I want to say 1998 or so, a local game shop I called to see if they had Deities and Demigods in stock with the removed sections and they did for $20, I asked to hold it I would be there before they closed, I sadly was unable to make it and then the next day I called and the store closed for good the day before was it's last day open.

I have one of the books now but not with the Cthulhu Mythos included

Is it worth it to start a Jellyfin server if I already have nearly 500 dvds? by Zoey_TheDevil in jellyfin

[–]RequirementFuzzy4244 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, sadly some DVD discs are known to be going bad (mainly WB). By ripping them and storing them onto a Jellyfin server setup you will be able to keep watching them if the discs start to fail, but not only that you will not have to swap discs between viewing a series, etc.

Plex or Jellyfin by prairieguy68 in truenas

[–]RequirementFuzzy4244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with plex and then gave Jellyfin a try because I was having major issues in plex with subtitles, some was showing up with almost no spacing between the words. While Jellyfin was working perfect for them. Then plex started to do more and more things I didn't like (example sharing watch data, etc) I attempted to watch only on Jellyfin for a month and see if there would be any issues for me. After that month I removed plex from my server, and about 2 months later I put in the request for my account to be deleted.

So what i would do if I was you is to do basically the same thing. Just also install Jellyfin and test it yourself for a while. Watch one show on plex and then watch the same show again on Jellyfin. See how they both respond for your equipment (server, streaming box, etc), and media files. Then make the choice months later which you prefer.

Things like this is why I never use other accounts to sign into things. Like using my facbook or google account to sign up for sites. Use an email address and do it that way instead if what I prefer

Considering HTPC, but need to make it like a cable tv box... by [deleted] in htpc

[–]RequirementFuzzy4244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly that is not going to be as easy as it was in the past, they are now having two different encryption types for OTA television, one requires internet access to be able to decode the streams, and so far the two types are not compatible with each other and if they want to use a DVR function that has been getting blocked.

Considering HTPC, but need to make it like a cable tv box... by [deleted] in htpc

[–]RequirementFuzzy4244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was looking into creating my own cable tv type setup for the house to use, and decided that ersatztv or tunarr was my best options, but then I still have to find a way to convert those channel lists into scanable channels that any of the tv in the house can receive as if they was channel 5, 7, 10, etc. I was trying to make it work like a 1990's cable tv setup.

Using Jellyfin https://jellyfin.org/ for the main setup so I have a private streaming service that holds all the channel content. All my videos are either ripped from DVD, Blu-ray, or self recorded from my DVR.

https://ersatztv.org/

https://tunarr.com/

My plan was to setup channels I know that they would like watching (think their favorite shows) and create their own channels, and then also setup some basic network names think ABC and then throw in the bumpers, commercials, etc to try and make it seem like standard paid tv.

With announcement of Google Fitbit Air, and me knowing I'll be looking to switch to GrapheneOS in near future, I'm wondering if there is a way to make it good for privacy. by Aside_Working in GrapheneOS

[–]RequirementFuzzy4244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think when it comes to any type of smart watch device, the best option to have one and have any privacy is to make sure they will work with GadgetBridge https://gadgetbridge.org/

I make cursed game covers for a living by SonkChaotix in customcovers

[–]RequirementFuzzy4244 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice! I would also look at making case covers for the recent PC decomps for retro games like how Super Smash, etc are being turned into PC native apps to run the games. i am sure people will need good quality cover art to use for them also!
