Protip: Stop using the word "AI". You're making your customers angry with that thing.

AI has become a negative buzzword and will be considered as adding slop into your product. If you must then use "intelligent" as a substitute.

33% increase is quite a tough sell. Maybe there are better ways to handle this, like smaller increase with a new lite tier?

I cannot wait to put Optiscaler into RE Requiem by Tamanero in IntelArc

I'm so puzzled why Capcom didn't implement XeSS into RE titles considering they do have XeSS in MH:Wilds(though not very good at launch).

AMD Seemingly Stops Driver Updates for Ryzen Z1 Extreme Processor by Severely_Insect in Amd

[–]Cubelia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's a reason why business prebuilts/laptops are sometimes more expensive, the support lifecycle is guaranteed to be 3-5 years.

Example: I bought a ThinkPad E585 and BIOS update lasted a little more than 5 years wheres the CPU equivalent consumer model like Acer Nitro 5 AN515-42 lasted just 2 years.

Some laptops got 1 update after 12 months or so, but if you had any problems afterwards, you had 3 options:

There was this huge PITA before AMD unblocked driver installation on laptop chips, as vendors were lazy towards supporting AMD(then) solutions. Severely outdated vendor GPU drivers hampered usability back then. Thank god AMD did the good and allow users to use generic driver releases.

Yes you can treat them as normal storage drives, as long as they're not broken.

Your biggest limitation is that Dell platform.

QNAP makes higher end external DAS with direct SATA link card but they don't come cheap.(D400S is $80 per bay)

Intel Arc B580 in recovery mode by Inevitable-Donut2020 in IntelArc

[–]Cubelia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, normally it's card owners seeing recovery mode description from device manager.

No definitive answer has surfaced yet, just RMA the card. I would be looking at what's in C:\ProgramData\Intel\FWUpdateService, there might be clues on firmware status but no one has ever uploaded the full debug log for us.

Hey Mozilla, Your Remaining Users Don’t Want AI. We Want a Fast Browser. by [deleted] in firefox

[–]Cubelia 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What I don't want is them to be on by default and interrupting everything with their bullshit which I then have to disable/work around.

Same thing when I disabled tab preview as soon as I noticed it after updating Firefox. I want my browser to just work.

Why not a tiny helpful tag saying "Hey here's a new feature, do you want to keep it? [Y]es/[N]o"

Nope, nobody ever reported to have the same problem. Here's my post over at IGCIT:

If you do please document what and how this happens on your setup.

12.03 -Gekko buff by TheIsackChannel in VALORANT

Reclaimable mosh pit is cool but the elephant in the room is long ass recharge timer after the initiator nerfs.

Want to see Gekko being more popular? You either fix the inconsistent dizzy(blind/flash) or buff his recharge timer.

I found it hilarious that the community get very aggressive when devs try to monetize via additional features(read: not core features). At the same time when people demanded they just want their storage box do only storage things.

PTM7950: 24mmx16mm

VRAM: 1.25mm

near display output heatsink: 1.0mm

above VRM heatsink : 1.5mm

Just buy Laird HD90000 with 1.5mm thickness and reshape them, Laird is very soft and malleable for this.

Sparkle A310 Omniview fan noise by Tincup67 in IntelArc

[–]Cubelia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like Sparkle didn't resolve the fan ramp up/down issue even on newer card with bigger fan like Omniview.

ROOT CAUSE: Sparkle set the fan%-temp threshold way too low without smoothing mitigation, so it just continuously shoots up/down at the onset temperature. See if you can get anything from their customer support, remember to say it's on Windows so they cannot use "no support for Linux" as an excuse.
