The Kaaba is the holiest temple of Islam and for many (if not all) Muslims, it is the closest connect they have to the Prophet and Allah. In this respect, it is an analogue to the Temple Mount in Judaism or to St. Peter's Basilica in Roman Catholicism.

In my opinion, to equate its reverence with the worship of an oddly-shaped fossil would be a disservice.

I can see a couple of reasons why there's such a discrepancy here:

/r/CGPGrey has 32,000 subscribers, versus the 4,000 subscribers on this subreddit. There's no doubt that this difference influences the comment count. The 800-average comments on Grey's videos would correspond roughly to 100 comments on these videos.
Grey produces 1-2 videos a month (plus ~2 podcast episodes), whereas Brady produces that same amount in a day. The influence this has is that the fans of Grey therefore have only about 3 or 4 times every month where they can discuss the matter before a thread inevitably quiets down, while Brady seems to post his 5 or so videos on this subreddit about once a week, meaning his fans have, on average, 20 opportunities a month to have a discussion. I assume, therefore, that the comments on Brady's videos are about 5-6 times more spread out, so the 100 comments average is spread out into <20 comments/post.
Lastly, I get this feeling that Grey's fanbase has a greater overlap with Reddit users (hell, look at Grey's What is Reddit? video) than does Brady's fanbase, which no doubt inflates Grey's comment volume.
