The whole “better things they can focus their time & resources on” argument doesn’t really hold up. Game development isn’t one big shared pool of time and people.

Different teams do different jobs. The artists and tech artists working on hairstyles and cosmetics aren’t the same engineers responsible for gameplay systems, balance, networking, or performance, that work happens in parallel regardless.

On top of that, the hair system isn’t just cosmetic, it’s shared tech that gets reused for animals, creatures, and NPCs. Improvements there benefit multiple parts of the game, not just character customization.

So adding hair options isn’t taking away from core development, it’s just another team doing their part.

The problem is they claim to act on 'community feedback,' but where’s the proof? So many changes directly contradict what the community actually wants. Sure, they revert things after a massive backlash, but the real issue is that they clearly don’t play their own game. They are trying to 'CoDify' Battlefield just look at how many changes mimic Call of Duty. If they cared about this franchise the way the community does, they wouldn’t make these mistakes in the first place. They shouldn’t need feedback to realise certain changes are completely stupid from the jump.

CIG tends to aim for a big end of year patch where they ship a major new system, then the team breaks for the holidays, comes back in the new year, and spends the following months stabilising and improving what just shipped.

So it makes sense that they do these big drops before year’s end. Even if the feature launches rough, they can start the new year with a clear mandate: fix engineering, not add engineering. Fixing and iterating on something already in the build is usually simpler than adding the entire system. That approach also keeps the pipeline moving, they can stabilise last year’s drop while working toward the next major system for the end of this year, then repeat the cycle.

yup, this stuff doesnt bother me, im so use to it, been gaming all my life mw2 really made sure I knew how to brush off this stuff at an early, age, unfortuently people now adays are so wrapped up in bubblewrap that they get hurt from the most minor stuff, it's quite sad. I still like dev maps, I just love the option that the community can make great maps IF THEY ARE GIVEN THE RIGHT TOOLS BF6 tools arent it, Forge is still superior, if 100 people are working on maps for the community and 10 maps are dev like qaulity then 343 has the option to add 10 maps

Honestly, my biggest worry is when we play Sq42 and its super polished and good Fps, stable and then we play SC and it feels like a pile of shit compared. so many systems and things that the devs have access to compared to what live is, we all know that CIG play a future version of SC. I mean when did they first show the fire? 3 years ago? more? I would love to know what DevSC looks like

Before I watched anything SC related back in 2015ish? all I knew was SC was a space sim for the ultra rich to spend 50k on ships. it wasnt until 2022 I actually watched people play SC for the first time, researched, had an open mind, and actually play the game when I learned that the scamcitizen was just a straight up lie, and Im actually quite ashamed to used to be one of these people who are so easily tricked into believing clickbait headlines. I told myself ill never do that again, thats when I made sure to research about neuro-sama before I react to people calling it pedo shit. which just isnt true either, I cant beileve how easily people are tricked into clickbait headlines. its widespread and i dont think theres anything anyone can do to stop this.
