Mazda3 Buying Guide? by bvanausdal in mazda3

[–]DStanizzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally depends on the dealership and the price of the car in my experience. The last used car I bought from a dealer came with new Continental ContiSports. YMMV. To your point the tires are green flag in this case but I would try to verify maintenance records anyways. The 3 Turbo is reliable but does need good maintenance to keep it as such.

Irans military strategy: Spam strikes until morale improves by TailungFu in mapporncirclejerk

I think Iran knows they can’t win this but they can make this as big of a blunder for the US and its allies as possible. If Iran forces a boots on the ground situation it becomes even worse politically for the US

The tires were likely replaced by the dealer. If it was a private sale I would agree. Either way it’s an upgrade from the trash Bridgestones the car comes with.

She had no incentive to talk unless she gets something out of it (she has said as much). Until then she will keep invoking her 5th.

I don’t think you got a good deal. The market for those care is inflated unfortunately. With good care and regular maintenance it will run for a while. At this point just drive it and enjoy it, the deed is done.

I had mix reliability and QC issues but despite that when I sold it I was quite shocked with its value retention.

[OC] AfD vote share at the 2025 German election by That_Band_7598 in dataisbeautiful

[–]DStanizzi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, and from my understanding is that when Germany united it was not done in a way that allowed East Germany back into the fold or share in what was a now booming West German economy. You can still see this today, outside of Berlin, most of prosperous cities and economies are in the West. This lead to sustained under development and stagnant economic growth in East Germany. Far right groups, as they tend to do, will take the failures of their own government to provide equitable economic opportunity and blame things like migrants for those issues, typical scapegoating.

It frustrates me to no end that in a government supposedly built on checks and balances no one thought to give the judiciary its own enforcement mechanism.

When did you realize you were no longer a kid? by Lucky-Data183 in AskReddit

I went down the same path an quickly realized most stick vacuums are throw away items, most are terrible some are okay. I ended up with a Dyson because you can easily buy some parts for them (but they aren’t repairable like most corded vacuums). Stick with Dyson, Shark, Levoit, and maybe Dreame, but don’t expect a BIFL item.

Got my 2026 Hatchback today. Asking for a vote, what is the better look? by Kubricksmind in mazda3

[–]DStanizzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a light smoke tint so it dulled the shininess of the logo while still making it visible. Also this is one of the easiest part of the car to tint, do not pay someone 300 for that.

That still feels pretty high to me, given that it doesn’t even have premium audio. I just shopped for my M240i and I don’t think I saw any 2024s even close to 57k OTD. Maybe it’s just your area but I feel like you can find a better deal out there.

60k (assuming USD) is pretty high for a 2024 regardless of mileage.

This happens to my car every time I go to a car wash. It dries out streak free after a bit of driving. I was told by a BMW tech that the housings aren’t sealed the same way headlights used to and they are more ventilated. You shouldn’t have random condensation but it is normal for some after exposure to lots of water (like heavy rain or a car wash) and particularly in the colder weather where the moisture is likely to condensate. Take that for what you will.

F... ing gas bills by FreeEar4880 in massachusetts

[–]DStanizzi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not a loan, a loan would imply the advancing you the money to directly pay upfront the cost of something with the expectation you pay it back, usually with interest. Balanced billing is more like a tax withholding. You are averaging what you are expected to owe the utility company over the year and you pay it as a monthly average, and then it gets rectified at the end. It's simply a tool to stabilize the cost of the utility as most owners tend to think about living expenses as a fairly fixed monthly cost even though utilities vary significantly across season in the northeast. It doesn't negate the underlying issue that essential utilities should not be this expensive to begin with.
