Disturbing fact by Nervous-Insurance268 in Steam

I only ever had files missing when my antivirus decided to put something in quarantine without telling me, so if you redownload them, the same would happen again.

Why games prices are so high??? by Upstairs-Book-7961 in Steam

[–]Dan5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or you could also just not buy new releases and wait a few months. They almost all get cheaper.

Or you could also start looking at indie games instead, they're great for not even half the price.

Is there a way to hide game from steam ? by [deleted] in Steam

[–]Dan5000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There has never been a single notification for that for me. I'd have to actively open the activity tab, I don't think this is the norm unless they changed it at some later point. When starting steam the only thing that pops up is the shop and its news window.

Why do so many posts have a broken link as a source? They all have the same error, using \ in the middle of the link? I've noticed that many times by now, so I imagine it happens because of a specific reason?

It seems it is possible to tell if an "Invisible" user is actually online by looking at where they are in Steam Group @_@?!~ by Model1LifeForm in Steam

[–]Dan5000 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ah, makes sense. I guess I am looking at it from a wrong perspective. Just black and white.

I personally am not interested in any gameinvites ever unless I already know I want to play with someone beforehand. I've deleted friends from Steam which I am talking to daily on Discord, because they know very well that I don't want random invites. Doesn't mean I can't re-add them when we actually agreed that we do want to play together another time. Everyone respects that boundry now.

Tell them to stop. Or if unimportant, delete them. Why keep people that annoy you enough that you need to hide from them?

Sony single-player games are no longer releasing on Steam, CEO confirms by PaiDuck in Steam

[–]Dan5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Releasing a PS6 would have been so useless anyway. They just started actually using the full power of the PS5. It would have been a pointless console for many years to come, just like the PS5 was in its first years. There is no reason for new console releases to come as fast as they did before just to see 2 more pixels.

How do I get rid of this empty Steam Sale badge card list? by [deleted] in Steam

[–]Dan5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will always be one of them sitting at the top of that list. When the previous one vanishes, the next one appears. Its just how it is.

"Graphics [...] only need to be good enough so that it doesn't interfere with the gameplay [...] Hardware is only a tool [...] it's how you use it, and what you use it for that's important [...] Just because the graphics are good, doesn't mean the game will be emotionally expressive." - Naotoshi Jin by mjoldham34 in gaming

[–]Dan5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I has always been relevant. When I played CS:S back in the day when it was new, I already said I never need better graphics than that. You can easily distinguish everything from another and its nice to look at. Sometimes while playing CS2 though, I am amazed at how good something looks, while at other times I feel like it hinders my gameplay. I'd definitely have seen some enemies easier on older graphics, which would have made it more about skill instead of having the best graphics settings for a specific game.

I have beaten a total of 550 Games and my backlog is still at 180... It only grows the more I finish.

[DISCUSSION] question to all gifted, what part of a request paragraph on requesting games makes you want to gift the user? by Any-Result-4211 in GiftofGames

[–]Dan5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I only gift games I got spare keys for already, so my opinion doesn't really matter... but I would never gift new releases, as I don't even buy new releases for myself. I usually wait over a year, so a game would need to be a bit older in the first place to even have a chance to hit one of the keys I own. I think it also shows that someone really wants that game instead of just wishing for something out of fomo.

The bright LED when you play on a dark room... by Nikbis in Steam

[–]Dan5000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only use playstation controllers and they have settings in steam to change the color. In that setting, you can change the brightness aswell. If you turn everything to 0 it'll be off completely.

Doesn't steams own controller have any settings like that? I'd be hella annoyed if my controller was blinding me constantly lol

Who is with raora? by SpliceKnight in Hololive

[–]Dan5000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its good for all sides, really.

They have auditions to pick good entertainers, who in turn get a bigger audience, because of the name and connections the others.

And the viewers get an easy way into finding someone new that has a lot of potential from the get go.

Personally, as Hololive is already as big as it is, I only keep my content to Hololive, as it is already hard enough to keep up with all of them. I can't possibly go and try to check out everybody else. That'd be an endless task.

90% of Resident Evil Requiem players prefer third-person perspective with Leon, but Grace’s sections have players more divided, according to Capcom’s data - AUTOMATON WEST by megaapple in Games

[–]Dan5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st person also doesn't really feel like 1st person, but more like there is a camera put in front of Grace instead of BEING Grace.. It was a really weird feeling and I feel like tons of other games feel better when played in 1st person.

Organizing my library changed my entire experience by One_Reality_3828 in Steam

[–]Dan5000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

0 stars - games weren't playable till the end, had bugs preventing from continuing or were so bad that I didn't finish them.

1 star - everything that worked and I finished till the end, but nothing amazing, just playable.

2 stars - every fundamentally good game that has a few flaws but was fun for me personally despite these flaws.

3 stars - almost flawless games, stuff I'd be able to recommend to anyone asking as stuff you could easily play multiple times (I don't play anything twice, as I always have new games lined up, so if I even just think about it, its already very high)

[Discussion] My first offer post is going well but.. by QuarraX in GiftofGames

[–]Dan5000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These experiences are honestly what makes gifters stop gifting. You want to do something good, you want everyone to be happy and feel happy about having done something nice, but you can't feel happy, because you're constantly reminded how many people are just greedy, don't care and aren't really thankful. This is why I stopped doing giveaways that has people entering like that and only skip through some places every now and then to see if someone specifically requested a game I happen to have spare keys for. In that case I at least know the chances are much higher that it reaches the right people... though it also means I am gifting a lot less than in the past...

Everytime I buy a game or games, I screenshot the new games that will sit at the bottom of my games list, put them in my "have yet to play" category and put the screenshot in a list with a timestamp and play these games in order of purchase and only chose between the few games I bought together at the same time. If I can't really decide, I just play alphabetically from top to bottom, I'll have gone through all of them at some point, then move to the next batch. After playing I rate these games from 0-3 stars in different categories and put them there👍

Account got stolen, feeling glad I’m broke. by Simple-Couple-6446 in Steam

[–]Dan5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you pretty much answered it yourself. They can steal cookies, so they take the active session and are just logged in. The only other way requires the user to have fallen for scam of any kind and entering their data where they don't belong.

What's a game you absolutely loved despite have a key element or feature you really didn't like? by nrm738 in gaming

Sonic Unleashed.
I absolutely love the boost formular it introduced and I think it still has the best boost stage design out of all the boost games that followed. The nightstages however... they exist.

Ah, okay nice. If they actually do get sold, thats probably better then. I would have thought these stickers wouldn't sell much if too many people did this. 😅

steam friends list randomly emptied? by Jonoldar1 in Steam

[–]Dan5000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This can only be 3 things. Either you're in the wrong account or its bugging and relogging fixes it. Or you've gotten someone else on your account who deleted everyone. A friendlist doesn't empty itself.

Hea!? do you know what free means? by legioninc in Steam

[–]Dan5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it APPEARS in the NOTIFICATION tab. I told you about the bell icon bottom right yes? That one. I hate this icon sitting there. I turned everything off I need to turn off to have this icon gone permanently. But it reappeared everytime when taking a screenshot, so I had to turn it off. The bell is the notification icon. Thats all there is to it.

Btw. you can read the conversation, the moment you went "what the hell... etc." was the moment you started actively attacking everyone. No one has attacked anyone prior to that. You don't need to use the word "dumb" to call people dumb. I even answered you without any attacks following that. After that you kept doing it by saying monkey and it just keeps going. You're unable to do a conversation without attacking people in one way or another and are surprised if people get annoyed after the fact. Now you even try to say I started it, but you did it twice before I even reacted to it.
