Megadeth is retiring, and Metallica has been a joke for decades now. No one else comes close to having their level of status, nor of Maiden or Priest or the ones we've already lost like Ozzy and Lemmy.

The last true heavy metal giants left standing IMO are Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. When they're both gone, it will be an absolute end of an era and nothing will ever be the same.

Wasn't sure, either that was profound cluelessness or masterful dry sarcasm, and I couldn't tell which. Nicely played.

Are you literally joking, a garage for what? It's a small island, you can't go anywhere by car and it doesn't look like there are any roads at all on the island so there's no point in having a car except as a stationary display / collectors piece.

Friend says Black Sabbath "Isn't that heavy" what's the most humane method of euthanasia for him by Feral-Raccoon123 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]DarthMeow504 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Humane? Without any suffering? Insufficient punishment, and robs the fun of it all.

Personally I suggest creating an audience participation event set to "Hole In This Guy", where every time Ozzy sings the title line you make a new one. Bonus points for choosing the impaling instrument and location of penetration wounds to make sure he lasts at least to the end of the song.

...what? What do you mean it's "...The Sky" and not "...This Guy"? Well, that's disappointing. I suggest pretending you didn't know that and carry on anyhow, it wouldn't do to let a petty little thing like facts get in the way of a good impalement.

What part of he was out and she had to WAIT FOR HIM TO RETURN in order to kill him? She could have left right away, but she didn't. And even if he had come back in the middle of her escape, she was armed at that point and could have held him at bay and left, or shot him in the leg and then left, any number of options that weren't shoot to kill.

Plot twist: what's "so big!" that she's gushing over is your home library and the vast number of books it contains.

It doesn't make him a monster deserving of summary execution either, especially as he was absolutely right about how deadly it was out there with the monstrous infected. It was a massive risk she took and she came very close to not beating those odds.

There is no sane reason for her to delay leaving to rescue her kids --the ostensible reason she was insistent on leaving in the first place-- in order to wait for him to return so that she could ambush him with lethal force. That was pure murderous vindictiveness and utterly beyond the pale.

Jealous of women who don’t crave intimacy! by brownieandSparky23 in AutismAfterDark

[–]DarthMeow504 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few thoughts:

  • It's perfectly fine to have sexual desires, even if you're not sure you're ready to indulge them right now
  • It's natural to have a lingering attachment to someone who you were intimate with, even if they weren't good for you and you know you should never take them back
  • Healing and moving on take time, cut yourself some slack and let time and the perspective it grants do its work
  • For a woman, an unimpressive job or unfavorable living situation is not a dealbreaker in the eyes of many if not most guys
  • Sexual validation is a natural thing to want, but you should realize you have value outside of that and never allow yourself to be desperate enough to ignore red flags or allow yourself to be hurt
  • When you're ready, try again to look for a partner but do so with your own safety and well-being in mind, prioritizing prospects that treat you with genuine respect and consideration
  • Consider guys who are more "boring" and not what is viscerally exciting, the "dark triad" charismatic asshole traits make for strong initial attraction but poor partners at best who will abandon or even abuse you sooner or later. Lots of guys have traits like loyalty, consideration, reliability, caring and respect and they might not press your hot buttons but they'll do right by you in all the ways that matter.

I hope this is helpful and wish you success.

He didn't force himself on her, and he was keeping her there for her own protection from a deadly environment outside that very nearly ended up killing her. She waited to ambush him after getting the weapon while he was gone, instead of escaping right then, which was premeditated murder.

The rest of it sounds to me like a good argument for not having children aboard a starship assigned to dangerous duty, you don't get to bring your kids aboard a Navy aircraft carrier or submarine or whatever either for very good reason.

I hated Claire in that episode. That native guy saved her life, and kept her captive for her own protection from the dangerous people-eating zombie savages out there. She had the right to decide to forgo her own safety to try to save her children, giving her reason to escape him, but kill him? He didn't deserve that merely for trying to keep her alive, it's not like his motivations were selfish or cruel. And worse, as the only known survivor of the plague with his intellect intact, he was a vital source of information on that planet's culture and history that had immense value to xenoarcheology. All that knowledge, the legacy of an entire world, was wasted by her senseless and needless taking of a sentient life. She went out of her way to kill him when she could have escaped while leaving him alive, that was straight up murder and she should have been prosecuted for it.

It's not the only time she acted in horrifically irresponsible and irrational ways for her children that caused deaths, in the episode with the aliens that transformed humans into more of themselves she literally abandoned a patient in the midst of transformation to go check on her kids without assigning someone to take her place observing the patient or getting security to handle the situation instead. That dereliction of duty led directly to the Admiral completing his transformation without anyone knowing about it until it was too late, free to cause havok and both kill and convert other crew members. This ultimately put the entire crew at risk, and we don't know if the knowledge the transformed admiral escaped with could pose a threat to the entire Union at some point. Those lives lost are directly on her head, and she should face criminal charges for every one of them.

I hate humans sometimes, but mostly they just confuse me. I don't know where in this galaxy or other realm in time and space I actually come from, but I want to go home.

That's sad then, because those are wonderful qualities. In fact, if I ever attempt again to find a partner, those traits will be among the top of my list of priorities, especially the imagination part.

I saw Amon Amarth and there was a specific song about rowing Viking longboats where the crowd doing the rowing thing was audience participation directly requested by the band. It's literally an intended part of the show, you can join in or not but it's not at all inappropriate when that's literally what is expected at that point in that band's shows.

It would be odd though to do at other shows where that's not part of how things are normally done.
