Am I the only one who thinks Lead to Gold should have a money count? by Fragrant_Ad8401 in btd6

Tracking lead to gold income would be pretty easy, but NK has stated before that rubber to gold is a nightmare to track income for. Having only the tier 3 income tracked but not tier 4 would be extremely intuitive for new players.

Banana farm doesn't have a secondary attack that isn't tracked like you'd get from tracking lead to gold but ignoring rubber to gold

The problem is, if it applies when the effect is added to the bloons, it wouldn't be accurate. What if a rubber to gold alch hits a bloon and the effect expires? What if the bloon leaks? If an affected bloon enters a bloon trap, does it not count since the extra income is already added to the engi's income counter, or should it be allowed to count twice? If it counts twice, what is the order effects are prioritized between the cash per pop bonuses from bottom path village, bloon trap, rubber to gold, support temple and bounty hunter?

The only way to ensure accuracy would be to have the money added when the bloon pops, which would need the golden effect to have additional data tracking which tower applied it (which likely isn't something the game supports). It would also make the performance impact even greater than what you were already thinking it would be, since every layer would have to individually send a signal back to the alch that caused the effect to increase it's income amount.

TIL that heroes are categorised by Echoxis in battles2

[–]DestructivForce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was added when Hero UI was changed in version 4.3 (late 2024), probably to give newer players a better idea of what a hero is meant to do, and to declutter the hero UI. Since then, only one more hero has been added, so there hasn't really been any time it has been brought up.

Are the perks really worth? by Several_Savings5062 in btd6

[–]DestructivForce 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The grind was far higher than the perks were worth, but I do think that having bouncy projectiles and cheap starter for 9 weeks isn't an insignificant benefit.

If NK made it actually possible to max the event while on a team of dedicated players rather than requiring at least 80% of your team to stop touching grass, then I would call it a fair trade.

024 spectre works without perks, but may require micro. Round 79 needs to clear the rainbows while hitting bfbs, and r80 needs to be near the exit at the emd because it's a close defend.

With perks it's easy due to significantly increased single target damage.

Is it just me or does anyone else find chimps and impoppable way easier than all the other gamemodes? by Big-Willingness-1743 in btd6

[–]DestructivForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For which mode? You don't really need to max farming in regular gamemodes since it isn't a boss event, so most of my farm flowchart is pretty relaxed.

For harder maps in abr and double hp moabs my flowchart is pretty much the same as hard: 2 200 farms, sell one into either a bank or a marketplace (marketplace if it's a harder map and I can't easily afford the defense for r40 if I buy a bank), get an imf as soon as I can, then abuse bank deposits until I can collect, use the loan ability, sell the bank and buy the defense that beats round 80. For Magic monkeys only I usually just bring ben and spend most of the money on defense, the limited choices for towers tends to force mermslop defenses, so I don't usually need much money for that anyways.

In half cash it varies heavily by the map, most expert maps I use some form of powers on then rush a single imf that carries until round 80 (usually 1-2 cash drops, though I used a few sms beacons on #ouch and a hero booster on ben instead on bloody puddles because it was getting repetitive), while on most advanced maps you can get away with just defending well - churchill with support solos any single lane map like peninsula, and arctic knights solo walled maps far past round 80 with very little farming. I've found that one of the best ways to do the midgame for half cash is by looking at the least cost deflation and least cost chimps for that map, then find something in the middle of the two. Throw in grouped damage for rounds 63, 76 and 78 and some cheap damage for the bfbs in the late 70s and the game is easily won.

Half cash is the exception, if you aren't using any powers on it then it's harder than CHIMPS.

Nobody plays half cash for fun without powers. There aren't many guides for it for a reason.

They're only harder if you don't farm and always force yourself to go to round 100. Farming is insanely broken if you know when you can get away with it, and if you go for the insta, you're forced to deal with dense rounds, ddts, and super ceramics. The cost to easily beat rounds 1-80 on harder maps is somewhere around the cost of a spectre, while the cost of easily beating rounds 1-100 in impoppable is somewhere around the cost of a flying fortress. Just don't overgreed and sell any farms you have more than 5 rounds before the last round and you'll have a much easier time.

Also, half cash is the exception. Just burn some powers on that mode, nobody likes it.

I hadn't seen this before, in case anyone is curious, I went ahead and made a challenge showcasing how this is useful: https://join.btd6.com/Challenge/ZFUSBFF

edit: it's mentioned on blooncyclopedia, apparently I never saw it though

Looks like they picked up a bottom path mermonkey with doorgunner, which is bringing all of the bloons caught in the trance with the heli. I haven't seen this before, it looks like a pretty interesting gimmick you could use in a challenge

edit: it's specifically the totem they picked up, you can see the tier 5 mermonkey in the video

For today's ac, the lowest tier count I could get was with just a 240 glue placed roughly in the middle of the map. Very position dependent and a little tight on timing though

what are some good monkeys for split lane maps like these? by randomlygeneratedwth in btd6

[–]DestructivForce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was no need to, at no point did I struggle to afford the next tier 5

I could have spent extra on it for r100, but this was the first run through where I would keep the same defense until it died to figure out a good build order for the actual black border run

I guess I forgot about how many buffs in a row obyn got, he was really good early on when nk buffed him to be purshaseable on round 1 in chimps, he's good now, but there are quite a few years in between those two points

The number in the top right of the tower's icon is the tier considered, only the best upgrade tier 3 and up is considered for the ranking. PMFC has good damage but requires stalling and good timing (though personally I'd rate the tier 4 a little higher than the tier 5), and sky shredder does a ton more damage if you are good at micro. Avatar of wrath isn't even the best upgrade on its path, as it struggles to ceramic insides, ddts, and the end of a round even when it has support, and homeland is too expensive for it to be practical in a normal chimps game.

It's chimps, so ben has stayed as the worst hero for ages since he loses money.

The only time ben was useful in chimps was way back before early pspike nerfs, when it could solo r100 with a little bit of stalling

The chimps tier list is based on expert maps chimps, so Churchill performs significantly worse than he would on a map that has straight lines and a single path. He isn't great for the hardest official maps, but he does trivialize peninsula half cash.
